Itinerary
- Day 1
Hanoi to Halong Bay
Your hotel in Hanoi's Old Quarter will arrange a pickup in the morning, then you'll head out to Halong Bay using the new highway. The drive takes a few hours, and once you arrive at Tuan Chau Harbor, lunch is served on the boat while you cruise past the thousands of limestone islands scattered across the bay. You'll see the distinctive Fighting Cock rock formation along the way. From there, the itinerary takes you to Sung Sot Cave for exploring, followed by a stop at Luon Cave where you can either kayak or take a bamboo boat depending on what appeals to you. Later in the afternoon, Titop Island gives you options to swim or hike up to the peak if you want those panoramic views of the bay. As the sun starts to set, there's a party on board with wine and snacks before the boat heads back toward Hanoi for the evening.
