- Day 1
Budapest to Timisoara
Meet your guide in Budapest and then cross into Romania at Arad for a walking tour of this Transylvanian town. You'll see City Hall Palace, the Palace of Culture, the Red Church, Roman Catholic Church, and State Theatre as you walk through the historic center. If time works out, grab lunch at a local restaurant before heading to Timisoara for the night.

Timisoara to Sibiu
After breakfast, take a walking tour through Timisoara's Old Town to check out the Turkish and Austro-Hungarian architecture throughout the area. Later, drive to Corvin Castle, one of Europe's largest Gothic fortresses, where you'll have time to wander around on your own. By afternoon you'll arrive in Sibiu for a guided walk through the Old Town before settling in for the night.

Sibiu to Bucharest
Start early for the drive to Bucharest, stopping along the way to see Bran Castle, the 14th-century fortress associated with Vlad Dracula's history. Your guide will fill you in on the historical background as you explore. From there, head to Sinaia to visit Peles Castle, an ornate 19th-century royal residence. Complete the journey to Bucharest and check in for the night.

Sofia

Istanbul
Have breakfast at your hotel, then head out on a half-day city tour of Istanbul's historical sites. You'll see Hagia Sophia, the Sultanahmet Mosque, and walk through the Grand Bazaar while trying some street food along the way. To wrap up the tour, take a boat trip across the Bosphorus where you can see where the Asian and European continents meet.
