- Day 1
Arrival in Prague
You'll arrive at Prague airport and head to your hotel in the historic centre. Later this evening, you'll meet your fellow travellers and Tour Director at a Welcome Reception.
 - Day 2
Prague Old Town
Starting at Strahov Monastery where you get panoramic city views, the guided tour takes you across Charles Bridge and into Old Market Square to see the Astronomical Clock. After that, you have the rest of the day to explore Prague on your own. If you're interested, there's an optional Czech folklore dinner and show available this evening.

Prague at Leisure
This is your day to do what interests you most. The Jewish Quarter is worth checking out if you want to learn about the city's history and Franz Kafka's connections here. Or you can join an optional tour to Prague Castle, one of the world's largest castle complexes that dates back to the 9th century.

Prague to Budapest
After breakfast, you'll travel by coach from Prague to Budapest. Once there, you'll board your river ship and attend a Welcome Reception this evening to meet your fellow travellers.

Budapest
You'll wake up to views of Budapest as you disembark and explore the city with a local guide who'll show you impressive historic sights. Back on the ship, there's a Gala Welcome Dinner while you're cruising. The optional guided tour of the Hungarian State Opera House includes a private opera recital and sparkling wine if that appeals to you.

If you enjoy music, there's an optional Mozart and Strauss concert this evening with an evening drive around the Ringstrasse.

Optional excursions can take you to Schönbrunn Palace, the Habsburg summer palace, or across to Bratislava in Slovakia, which blends medieval, baroque, and communist-era architecture.

Dürnstein to Melk
You'll cruise to Dürnstein, a charming town beneath hilltop castle ruins where King Richard the Lionheart was imprisoned back in the 12th century. After wandering the cobbled streets and historic townhouses, there's an optional wine tasting tour to sample the region's wines. Later you'll sail through the scenic Wachau Valley and dock in Melk to see its magnificent Benedictine abbey, which has been operating since 1089.

This evening, there's a traditional Bavarian evening on board with local beer, snacks, and folk music.

Cologne to Brühl
You'll cruise into Cologne and learn about its famous twin-spire cathedral, the Kölner Dom, which took over six centuries to complete. From there, you'll drive to Brühl for a tour of the World Heritage-listed Augustusburg Palace, the former residence of Archbishop-Elector Clemens August, featuring Rococo architecture and landscaped gardens connecting to the Falkenlust hunting lodge.
