Itinerary
- Day 1
Marrakech to Boumalne du Dades
You'll start at 8 AM from your Marrakech accommodation and head across the High Atlas Mountains through the dramatic Tichka Pass. Along the way, there's a stop at a rural women's Argan oil cooperative where you can see how they work. Then you'll choose between two options for the day: either visit the historically significant Kasbah Telouet or the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Ben Haddou where you'll have lunch. After that, you'll stop in Ouarzazate for photos at Kasbah Tiffoultoute before heading into the Dades Valley, also called the Valley of Roses. You'll pass through several Berber villages and should arrive in Boumalne du Dades by early evening around 5 or 6 PM.

- Day 2
Boumalne du Dades to Merzouga
After breakfast, you'll take a short drive to Todra Gorge and spend some time exploring on foot around the dramatic rock faces and riverbed, or just wander past the colorful vendors. From there, it's about two hours to the ancient Saharan town of Rissani where you'll stop for lunch and try local Saharan pizza. Then you'll drive about one hour to Merzouga at the gateway to Erg Chebbi dunes. Once you arrive at your desert hotel, there's time to relax and take in the surroundings. If you want more action, quad biking or buggy rides are available. Dinner happens at the hotel to wrap up the day.

- Day 3
Merzouga
Your hotel pickup gets you started early for a 4x4 drive through Saharan villages where you'll meet traditional desert nomads and share tea with them. After spending time hearing their stories, you head back for a session with Gnawa musicians, then sit down to lunch with a local family. Later in the afternoon around 5 PM, you'll mount a camel for a sunset ride heading toward your luxury camp. By the time night falls, you're settled in for a traditional dinner with live music under the stars.

- Day 4
Erg Chebbi Dunes to Fes
If you're up for it, there's an optional early-morning dune climb to catch the golden sunrise over the Sahara, and you can try sandboarding down afterward if you want. After breakfast at camp, you'll spend about one hour on camel back heading out of the dunes to meet your 4x4 vehicle. Then you'll drive north through different landscapes toward Fes, starting with a brief stop in the date palm town of Erfoud. As the terrain shifts from arid to lush and mountainous Middle Atlas surroundings, you'll stop midday in the mountain town of Midelt for lunch and can visit a Berber carpet weaving workshop. The drive continues through cool cedar forests where native Barbary monkeys live, and there's a stop in Azrou to spot them. You'll have refreshments in Ifrane, Morocco's alpine ski resort town, before arriving in Fes in the late afternoon or early evening.
