Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival in Edinburgh
You'll land at Edinburgh International Airport where your driver is waiting to pick you up. The drive to your hotel takes about 30 minutes depending on traffic. Check-in starts at 14:00, so if you arrive earlier, the hotel can sometimes arrange early check-in based on availability. Once you're settled, the rest of the day is yours to wander around the city at your own pace. Walking down the Royal Mile or grabbing a coffee at a local spot near your hotel are good options to get oriented.
- Day 2
Outlander Filming Locations Tour
Today you're spending 9 hours exploring Outlander filming locations across Scotland. The tour kicks off at Midhope Castle, which served as Jamie Fraser's Lallybroch home in the series. From there, you'll head to Doune Castle, a medieval fortress that appeared in both Outlander and Game of Thrones. After walking through the castle, you'll drive to Culross village, known as fictional Cranesmuir, where you'll have lunch break. The afternoon takes you to Falkland village, used for 1940s-era scenes, and then finishes at Blackness Castle near the water, which portrays Fort William in the show. Your guide will provide context about each location and how the production used the real settings.

You can visit Edinburgh Castle at the top of the hill, then make your way down to the Palace of Holyroodhouse where the royal family stays when in Scotland. The Royal Yacht Britannia is another highlight, docked at Leith a few miles north. What makes this flexible is that you control the timing. Departure from Edinburgh
After finishing breakfast at your hotel, meet your driver in the lobby for your transfer to the airport. Hotel check-out is at 12:00 noon, so coordinate your timing accordingly. The drive to Edinburgh International Airport takes roughly 30 minutes. You'll want to arrange your pick-up at least 4 hours before your flight departs to give yourself plenty of time for airport check-in and security. This buffer prevents any last-minute rush and accounts for normal traffic conditions.
