Asked on August 28th, 2025We want 2 separate rooms for us. How much is that? And what is the distance difficulty of the hikes? Also, what is the transportation and do we have to carry our own bags? That I cannot do.

Here is the information how long the hikes are: Day 1- The total hike time will be 2.5 hours for a total of 3.9km and a total elevation gain of 584m. (moderate) Day 2- The hike up is about 2 hrs for a total of 4kms and an elevation gain of approximately 233m (moderate) Day 3- Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine Hike about 2 hrs and 4-5kms (moderate) Day 5- Ibe-dake Forest Trail Trek 4-7km depending on which path you take (moderate). You are in charge of carrying and handling your own baggage during the tour.

Traveler•Written August 2025So the baggage thing- where are we leaving it as we hike? And we carry it in public transportation or...? The tour sounds perfect except for dragging around a suitcase. So i need a better understanding of that logistic.

You won't need to worry about carrying your suitcase during the hikes. Your main luggage will stay safely in your hotel room, as you'll already be checked in and returning to the same hotel after your hikes. For the hikes themselves, you'll only need to bring a small daypack with the essentials you'd like to have with you.

We allow a maximum of 16 travellers on this trip. Our tours are based on twin share rooming. Since you have an odd number of travellers in your party, you can either share with another solo traveller of the same gender on the tour free of charge OR if you would prefer to add the 'My Own Room' single supplement, we can do so for an additional $1769 AUD. This trip starts in Kyoto and finishes in Ishigaki. You can fly into Osaka and out of Ishigaki airport.
