Rome
This morning you'll join a three-hour guided tour that combines walking through Imperial Rome with a panoramic bus ride. You'll see the Arch of Constantine, the outside of the Colosseum, Imperial Forums, Circus Maximus, the Baths of Caracalla, Basilica of Saint Mary Major, Pyramid of Cestius, and Castel Sant'Angelo. The tour wraps up in Vatican City around 11:30 a.m., then the rest of your day is free.

You have the whole day to explore Rome on your own schedule. Wander around and find what interests you, letting different neighborhoods and streets reveal what they have to offer.

Rome to Bari
You'll travel toward the Adriatic Sea, heading through the Apennine Mountain range to reach San Giovanni in Venere Abbey, an 11th-century structure built on ancient Roman ruins. After that, continue to Termoli, a coastal city with a 13th-century castle and Romanesque cathedral where you'll have lunch and explore the walled old town. By evening, you'll arrive in Bari and walk through the historic old town with its narrow streets and beautiful churches.

Bari to Igoumenitsa
After breakfast, you'll head to Brindisi for a walk along the sea where you can see an impressive Roman column and check out the old town. At 1:00 p.m., board a modern ferry for an 8-hour crossing of the Ionian Sea to Igoumenitsa, Greece. You'll arrive in the evening and head to your accommodation.

Igoumenitsa to Kalabaka
You'll journey through tall mountains in the Epirus region to reach Metsovo, a charming Balkan village with traditional stone houses, red tile roofs, and carved wooden balconies. Next, head to Kastraki for views overlooking the Meteora Valley. After lunch, explore the Meteora area with its towering rock formations topped by monasteries. You'll visit one of the monasteries and finish the day in Kalabaka with dinner included.

Athens
A local guide will show you around Athens, taking you to the Presidential Mansion, the Panathenaic Stadium where the first modern Olympic Games happened, the National Library, and busy city center squares. You'll also see newer neighborhoods developed after the 2004 Olympics. The tour ends at the Acropolis, and then you'll head to Plaka neighborhood for dinner at Greek tavernas with live folklore performances.

Athens to Nafplio
Starting early, you'll take a ferry from your hotel to Aegina, an island with over 4,000 years of history. Explore the harbor and traditional neighborhoods, or visit the Greek Temple of Apollo. Another ferry takes you to Poros for free time and lunch. Then a short 15-minute journey gets you to Galatas, from where you'll travel by road through scenic landscapes to Epidaurus. You'll explore the Ancient Theatre, built 2,400 years ago and still hosting performances today. After that, head to Nafplio, a charming coastal city with a citadel and Venetian fortress, with time to wander around. Dinner is included.

You'll cross the Peloponnese mountains to Tripoli, the capital of the Arcadia region, where you can check out Areos Square with its cafes and restaurants. Continue to Olympia to visit the Archaeological Site where the first Olympic Games were held in 776 BC. You'll see the Temple of Zeus, Stadium, Gymnasium, and Arena. Later, head to Patras, Greece's third-largest city, a busy port with a medieval fortress and the country's largest cathedral. Dinner is included.

After breakfast, you'll cross the Rio-Antirrio suspension bridge connecting the Peloponnese to the mainland. Travel through Central Greece and Epirus to Igoumenitsa, a port town where you can take a stroll. At 2:00 p.m., board a modern ferry for an 8-hour crossing of the Ionian Sea to Italy. You'll arrive in Brindisi around 9:00 p.m. and spend the night there.

Head to Naples port to board a ferry to Capri. The suggestion is to take the funicular up to Capri town for a walk and great views. After lunch, head back to the ferry to travel to Sorrento, a charming tourist town sitting at the base of a cliff where you'll have free time to explore. Then continue to the Gulf of Salerno and stay in the city of Salerno.
