- Day 1
Arrival
After arriving at your hotel, you'll have time to get settled in. Check the information boards at the reception desk this afternoon to find out when the tour officially kicks off tomorrow.

- Day 2
Rome
A three-hour guided tour takes you through Imperial Rome on foot and then by bus. You'll see the Arch of Constantine, the exterior of the Colosseum, the Imperial Forums, Circus Maximus, and the Baths of Caracalla, finishing around 11 a.m. at Vatican City. Later this evening, you're transferred to Trastevere for dinner before heading back to the hotel around 8:30 p.m.

- Day 3
Rome to Bari
You'll head toward the Adriatic Sea, driving through the Apennine Mountains. First stop is the 11th-century San Giovanni in Venere Abbey, built on the remains of an ancient Roman temple (admission included). Then it's on to Termoli, a coastal town with a 13th-century castle and Romanesque cathedral where you have time for lunch and a walk. From there, continue to Bari, a historic port city with narrow winding streets, churches, and a lively atmosphere.

- Day 4
Bari to Brindisi
Follow the coast to Brindisi, a walled port city where you can walk along the waterfront and see the impressive Roman column. Next is Lecce with its baroque architecture and the nickname 'Florence of the South' - grab lunch and wander around. Afternoon brings you to Gallipoli, a Greek-founded coastal town on the Ionian Sea with an old town connected to the mainland by a 17th-century bridge. You'll return to Brindisi for the night.

- Day 5
Brindisi to Naples
Two standout stops today. Alberobello comes first with its distinctive trulli houses, cone-shaped dwellings with stacked stone roofs and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Then head to Matera in Basilicata to see the Sassi di Matera, ancient dwellings carved into rock from thousands of years back. After lunch in Matera, you'll drive through mountain landscapes of Basilicata and Campania, arriving in Naples by evening with free time to explore.

Naples to Salerno
After breakfast, head to Naples port and take a ferry to Capri. Use the funicular to get up to Capri town, then walk around and take in the views. Following lunch, you'll head to Sorrento, a tourist town perched at a cliff's base with time to wander. Then continue to the Gulf of Salerno and your accommodation in Salerno.

- Day 7
Salerno to Rome
Start at Pompeii to see the Roman city buried by Mount Vesuvius (guided tour and tickets included). Head to Naples, one of Italy's oldest and most important cities with a UNESCO-listed historic quarter. Spend time exploring and having lunch there. After that, drive to Cassino to visit the abbey, site of a major World War II battle. You'll arrive in Rome by evening.

- Day 8
Rome to Florence
Leaving Rome behind, you'll head north through beautiful countryside to Florence. First thing is a stop at Michelangelo Viewpoint for a panoramic view of the city. Walk into the historic center and have time for lunch. A guided walking tour covers the Duomo cathedral, the Ponte Vecchio bridge lined with goldsmith shops, and Piazza della Signoria, the medieval political center. The rest of the afternoon is free for your own plans.

You'll also visit a Murano Glass Factory to watch traditional glass-working techniques. Your accommodation is in the Mestre area.
