- GLGuoyan· May 25th, 2025The tour was very good, happy with it, the only thing is the tour leader was the first time to be there same as us, so not much information to share with us.Show moreTrip date: May 2025
- roland· May 24th, 2025Automatic translation available in English. View in EnglishGood, customizable (optional excursions) program with the most important sights. I found it strange that I was asked to tip the tour guide and chauffeur between 5 and 7 euros per person and day in an envelope, which for a trip of 10 days with 31 people could amount to 2100 euros each for the driver and tour guide. This means that the local travel agency Expat hardly needs to pay them a wage!Show moreTrip date: May 2025

- ALArthur· June 14th, 2024Tour guide Roma was great and kept us going Locations visited were all good, only long distance drives getting there. It would have been better to stay the night closer to visited destinations. Some of the hotel stays were a bit questionable and not as expected. Driver was also great.Show moreTrip date: June 2024
- GCGregory· May 30th, 2023Need to work on getting hotels central to the city being visited. The hotel in Palermo was actually in an unsafe area. I realize this was a budget tour, but people on our trip were upset having to navigate to and from the sights of town. Need to implement a mask policy for individuals that are ill. We joined a tour group where people were visibly Ill , hacking up a lung! We were about 5-6 days in when we received the gift. It ruined the last days of our tour with Expat and our entire trip, 6 days of Florence. We are now back in Rome and still are sick. We had to beg for ventilation on the coach. It was always dead air! Other than at the front where the driver was sitting. I think if you provided better hotel locations you would receive better reviews. I know as a small business you don’t have the clout to get priority pricing, but you need to get out there and make some friends in the hotel industry. You know your not going to please everyone, but the hotel portion of the reviews is probably hurting your business., Noddy and our driver Franco were very professional ! Wishing you only the best! - Janice· May 15th, 2023I will not hesitate to take another trip with EXPAT again. Our tour leader, Vivian was excellent and our driver was skilled. We were busy and had a lot of walking, but we covered so much and saw so many things. My only concern was that we did not know the price of optional tours in advance, and had to pay in cash—Euros.Show moreTrip date: March 2023

- MTMargaret· October 21st, 2022There is not enough space here to share my experience. NEVER AGAIN FOR TOUR RADAR. All hotels with the except of 2 were terrible, in bad locations. My day 1 of tour the bus driver was OFF! He had driven the N Italy tour and need a day of rest. This was my DAY 1 of S. Italy. Get a different driver. So we sat around hotel until Day 2 when we left. The BV Oly Hotel was a terrible location. You should warn people that there is a 1+ mile walk straight up to hotel. I was promised "Rome by Night" tour which never happened. We were told to walk back down the hill to Metro Station, which was not a good neighborhood. Go into city and return after dark the same route!!! Also, carrying my luggage to bus and back should not be a customer's job. Too many negative things with this trip. Long drives, long walking tours, too tiring. Subpar hotels located outside city: BV Oly, Central Park, D'Amato, I'll stick to Cosmos, Vacations to Go, and my other "budget" trips where you stay in hotels that are in the area you're visiting and are very above budget. Buses that TAKE you to events, dinners, and RETURN you to hotel. Telling you to take public transportation in a strange city is not how I travel.Show moreTrip date: October 2022

Asked on August 6th, 2024I was going to book the Italy tour, highlights of Southern Italy and Sicily but read some terrible reviews about the hotels used and the bad areas that they are in. Can you let me know if there have been improvements made or are the comments unfounded?
- Expat Explore TravelOperator•Written August 2024
We do consider all feedbacks for our Tours very seriously and our team is currently reviewing options to ensure that we are able to consistently improve our customers' experience during their tours. We advise possible customers to indeed read through the Tour Details and Reviews by previous customers to fully understand and get insight on how the tour feels like, as we noticed that some critical reviews are due to customers not having their expectations correctly (e.g. Hotel Locations not in Central Parts, etc.).
