He took us through the local market, showing us around and how to get fresh ingredients and sharing insights into Vietnamese food and culture along the way. Jesse is funny, patient, easy going and incredibly attentive to our progress and work. He is encouraging and explaining steps clearly to made sure we understand everything. This cooking class was a highlight of our trip! We learned how to make bun cha, spring rolls, and mango salad, and different type of coffees! Jesse guided us step by step with clear instructions and lots of encouragement. The environment was relaxed and welcoming, and we all had such a great time cooking and eating together. We came away with new skills, full stomachs, and a deeper appreciation for Vietnamese cuisine. Thank you, Jesse, for making this such a memorable experience!Show more
- Niall· August 29th, 2025Our host, Jessie, met us near the market, and was immediately a fantastic guide, showing us the intricacies of local life in Hanoi. We went to the wet market and bought meat, fresh veg, tofu, and everything else needed for the cooking class later in the day, After a short ride (~10 mins?) to the cooking school venue, we started our cooking class. We had a fantastic time, learning how to prepare for, assemble and cook spring rolls, bun cha (sweet & sour noodle soup with pork meatballs and sliced pork belly), mango salad (our favourite) and egg coffee. I can recommend this experience to everyone, of any age and any cooking ability. I’m a moderately experienced home chef, but learned so much about how to cook Vietnamese food from Jessie. Thank to you Jessie and to the whole team for their effort, expertise and kindness, we had a fantastic time with you all!Show more
