Itinerary
- Day 1
Negombo
Your tour leader meets you at Colombo Airport and takes you to Negombo for the evening. The day is kept flexible for whenever you arrive, so if your flight comes in early, they can arrange a city tour of Negombo. After settling in, you'll have time to walk along the golden beach and watch the sunset from your beachfront hotel.

Landmarks Negombo Beach - Day 2
Sigiriya
After breakfast, you head into the Sri Lankan countryside toward Dambulla. At the Millennium Elephant Foundation, you'll feed and help bathe the elephants. Then comes a cultural village tour that includes a tuk tuk ride, a catamaran trip across a lake, and a stop at a farmer's house to watch traditional curry cooking and try authentic dishes. Later in the evening, you'll climb Sigiriya Lion Rock Fortress and explore this UNESCO site from the summit while watching the sunset.

Kandy
Following breakfast, you visit the Royal Cave Temple and Golden Buddha Statue in Dambulla, which holds five cave temples with historical drawings from centuries past. This is the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. In the afternoon, you travel to Kandy and see the Temple of the Tooth Relic and head to the Kandy Viewpoint for views over the city. That evening, you watch traditional Sri Lankan cultural dance performances before heading to your mountain-view hotel.

- Day 4
Kandy to Nuwara Eliya
After breakfast, you visit a museum learning how Sri Lanka's famous gems and jewelry are made using traditional methods. From there, you check out the Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens with over 4,000 plant species and a noted orchid collection. Next, you stop at a tea plantation in the misty hills to learn about Ceylon tea production and have a fresh-brewed cup. The afternoon is spent walking through Nuwara Eliya's city center and the vibrant fruit and vegetable market before settling at your hotel.

Nuwara Eliya to Ella to Udawalawe
You board a scenic train from Nanu-Oya station heading to Ella, known as one of the world's beautiful hill country train rides. Once there, you explore Ella and see Ravana Waterfall and the iconic Nine Arch Bridge. Then you continue to Udawalawe National Park for a 4x4 jeep safari where you might spot monkeys, crocodiles, wild elephants, and other wildlife as evening comes on. You stay overnight at a safari lodge.

Udawalawe to Galle
You travel to Galle, a popular beach destination with white sands and coconut palms. After arriving at your seafront hotel, you relax on the beach with a cocktail or cold beer. The day stays open for beach time or trying optional water sports if that interests you.

Landmarks Galle Beach - Day 7
Galle
Early in the morning, you take a boat ride along the coast to spot blue whales and dolphins if conditions allow (this part is optional and seasonal). Back at your hotel, you have time to relax on the beach or by the pool. In the afternoon, you head to Galle Fort, a UNESCO site mixing Dutch and British colonial architecture with tropical surroundings. Before the day ends, you visit a turtle hatchery center to see baby turtles starting their journey and injured adult turtles being cared for before their release.

Galle to Colombo
After breakfast, you travel to Colombo, Sri Lanka's capital city with history going back to the 5th century. You see the city's main attractions and have time for last-minute shopping. You might eat dinner at one of Colombo's internationally recognized restaurants, then head to the airport for your return flight or get dropped at your hotel in Colombo or Negombo.
