Itinerary
- Day 1
Marrakech to Zagora
Your driver picks you up from your Marrakech accommodation and heads into the Atlas Mountains. You'll stop at Telouet Kasbah first, then continue to the UNESCO-listed Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou where there's time to walk around. From there it's through Ouarzazate and into the Anti Atlas Mountains, following the Draa Valley down to Zagora. By evening you're checked into your hotel in the palm groves for the night.

Zagora to Erg Chigaga
Morning heads to Tamegroute to see the Green Pottery workshops and visit the Koranic Library. After that you continue south to M'hamid, the last town before the desert really begins. From M'hamid the route goes into the Erg Chigaga dunes where you'll reach your desert camp. The night is spent in tents out in the Moroccan desert with the dunes around you.

Erg Chigaga Desert Exploration
Start with traditional breakfast at camp, then head out into the Chigaga dunes for the main experience. You can choose between a camel trek for 5-6 kilometers or a 4x4 ride covering 20 kilometers depending on what appeals to you. Lunch happens out in the dunes, then it's back to camp for the night. Local guides lead everything, so they'll handle the navigation and share information about the area.

Erg Chigaga to Marrakech
Watch the sunrise over the desert before having breakfast at camp. Then you'll travel across the dried-up Lake Iriqui on sandy trails heading toward Foum Zguid, which sits along the famous Dakar Rally route. From there the journey continues back to Marrakech, wrapping up your desert tour by the end of the day.
