Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Lindau

    You'll arrive in Lindau by train and meet your guide at 4 p.m. outside Hotel Lindauer Hof near the harbor. After meeting up, you'll take a guided walk through the medieval town to see the architecture and key landmarks, including the famous harbor with its lighthouse and stone lion. Dinner and your first night happen at the hotel.

  2. Day 2

    Lindau to Immenstadt

    Your e-bike journey starts from Lindau, heading along the Leiblach river into the Allgäu region. You'll stop at the Gothic Church of St. Stephen in Genhofen, then continue through some tougher terrain. There's a break in Oberstaufen, and then you cycle to Immenstadt. By evening you'll check into Hotel Rothenfels, which has views out toward the Great Alpsee.

  3. Day 3

    Grünten - Hopferau

    Starting from Marienplatz in Immenstadt, you'll cycle along the Iller River heading toward the Grünten massif (1,738m). The Alpine scenery gets more dramatic as you go. Later in the afternoon, you'll reach Castle Hopferau, your final destination for the night, and stay at the historic hotel there.

  4. Day 4

    Castles Tour - Neuschwanstein

    This day focuses on castles and ruins throughout the Allgäu and Tyrolean mountains. You'll visit Mariahilf pilgrimage church in Speiden and see Falkenstein Castle ruins. After crossing into Tyrol past Vilsegg fortifications, you return to Germany to check out Hohenschwangau and Neuschwanstein castles. You'll cycle past Hopfensee and head back to Castle Hopferau for dinner and overnight.

  5. Day 5

    Hopferau to Bad Kohlgrub

    From your current location, you'll cycle a short way to Tegelbergbahn valley station and park the e-bikes there. A cable car takes you up to Tegelberg summit (1,880m) for views of Ludwig's castles and the Alps, plus a short hike where you might spot ibexes. Back on the bikes, you'll pedal past Bannwaldsee through the Ammergau mountains to reach the UNESCO Wieskirche. Later you arrive in Bad Kohlgrub for buffet dinner and stay at Hotel Schillingshof.

    Bad Kohlgrub to Bad Tölz

    You'll cycle to Grafenaschau in the Murnauer Moos region, then pass the Schwaiganger stud farm. A longer break happens in Kochel am See where you can visit the Franz Marc Museum and see Kochelsee. From there, continue to Benediktbeuern monastery, which is over 1,250 years old with public areas open to explore. By evening you're in Bad Tölz, walking around the market street and historic spa district. You'll stay at Hotel am Wald.

    Bad Tölz to Rottach-Egern

    Cycling out of Bad Tölz through the countryside via Gaiβach and Attenloher Filze, you'll pass the notable Reichersbeuern Church tower and visit Reichersbeuern Castle, a former film location now operating as a private school. The ride down to Lake Tegernsee is exciting with wonderful views. You'll take a boat ride on the lake with sparkling wine to celebrate. By evening you're at the luxury Althoff Seehotel Überfahrt on the lakeshore, with dinner at the hotel.

If preferred, a minibus transfer back to Lindau is available (230 kilometers, roughly 3 hours, with a maximum of 7 people per vehicle). Your trip ends here with departure options based on your plans.

    Booklets with sectional maps should have been available in English. Bike seat came unattached on the last day of cycling which was a nuisance & somewhat dangerous
