Arrival in Vilnius
You'll arrive in Vilnius and have time to walk through the UNESCO-listed Old Town to get oriented to the city. If you're coming by train or ferry instead of flying, you'll have some extra hours to explore before settling in.

Vilnius to Trakai
This morning starts with a guided walk through Vilnius Old Town where you'll see Gothic houses, St. Anne's Church, the University, Jesuit Church, St. Peter and Paul Church, and the Chapel of the Dawn with its Black Madonna. After lunch, you'll pick up your rental car and your guide will drive with you to Trakai to explore the medieval fortress on the lake. You can rent a rowboat or pedal boat if you want to get out on the water.

Kaunas to Curonian Spit (Nida)
You'll drive to Kaunas for a detailed city tour that includes the baroque Pazaislis monastery complex. In the afternoon, you're heading to the Curonian Spit where you'll take a short ferry crossing to reach the UNESCO-listed golden sand beaches and pine forests. The colorful wooden houses of Nida come into view as you arrive by evening.

Nida to Klaipeda
Your guide will show you Nida in the morning, walking you past old fishermen's cottages and up the Great Dune. You'll visit Thomas Mann House to see the views of the Curonian Lagoon that inspired the author's work. Later you'll drive your car onto the ferry heading to Klaipeda via Juodkrante, and stop to walk over Witches' Hill along the way.

Klaipeda to Riga via Hill of Crosses and Rundale Castle
After breakfast, you'll get a guided tour of Klaipeda's old town with its warehouses, half-timbered houses, and Theater Square featuring Simon Roof Fountain. From there you'll continue inland to the Hill of Crosses near Siauliai, then cross the border into Latvia to visit the magnificent baroque Rundale Castle. You'll arrive in Riga by evening.

Riga
Your guide will take you through new Riga first, then you'll explore the UNESCO-listed Old Town with its winding alleyways, medieval guild houses, City Palace, St. Mary's Church, and the cathedral that has Europe's largest organ. You'll also walk past the Swedish Gate and St. Peter's Church. In the afternoon, you'll head through the New Town and Art Nouveau district to see the range of architectural styles here.

Gauja National Park (Sigulda, Turaida, Cesis)
You'll spend the day in Gauja National Park, starting in Sigulda where Russian tsars used to vacation. You'll see Turaida's bishop's castle across the river and take some forest walks. Later you'll get to Cesis to check out its romantic castle, ruins of the Order's castle, and the 13th-century St. John's Church. There's an optional cable car ride available if you want to cross over the Gauja Valley.

Riga to Tallinn via Tartu
You'll cross into Estonia and make an extensive stop in Tartu, which is known as the intellectual center of the country. Your guide will walk you through the town hall square with its 1789 town hall and classicist buildings, and you'll learn about the university founded in 1632. After that, you'll drive roughly 190 kilometers to Tallinn and explore the beautifully restored UNESCO Old Town on your own pace.

In the morning, your guide will take you to the ruins of St. Bridget's Monastery and the beautiful Kadriorg Park where Tsar Peter the Great built a palace for his wife Catherine I. During the afternoon, you'll explore Tallinn's Old Town, seeing the impressive cathedral, the castle where parliament meets, beautifully restored town houses, and the old town hall.
