Bamberg
You'll arrive in Bamberg and get oriented with this medieval town spread across seven hills. Walking through the cobblestone streets, you'll come across Bamberg Cathedral and the Old Town Hall, both worth stopping by. The Little Venice district, with its charming riverside setting, gives you a good sense of the town's character. After you settle into your accommodation, you'll have some time to rest up before tomorrow's cycling starts.

Bamberg to Hassfurt
Your cycling adventure begins along the Main Cycle Path. Early on, you'll visit the Maria Limbach pilgrim church, a baroque structure designed by Balthasar Neumann with some really nice architectural details. From there, the route takes you through countryside and small villages with gentle scenery. By evening, you'll reach Hassfurt and settle in along the Main River for the night.

Hassfurt to Volkach
Today's ride follows a flat section along the river, so it's relatively manageable. You'll pass private castles and estates that line the route, giving you a sense of the region's history. Once you reach Volkach, take a walk through the village streets and check out the Baroque Schelfenhaus palace along with other historic buildings. Before heading to your accommodation, try some of the local wines that this area is known for.

Volkach to Würzburg
You'll cycle through several wine-producing villages including Sommerach, Dettelbach, Marktbreit, and Ochsenfurt, each with their own character and local wine options. After your ride, you'll arrive in Würzburg where the cultural attractions really pick up. The Residence Palace is worth spending time in since it's a UNESCO-listed baroque castle. From the old bridge by Fortress Marienberg or the Käppele pilgrimage church, the views over the city and surrounding countryside are quite nice.
