Budapest
You'll arrive in Budapest by 2 pm and get settled into your suite on the ship. Dinner is served this evening as you start cruising overnight toward Vukovar, so you'll have time to explore the ship and meet fellow travelers before heading to bed.

Vukovar to Ilok to Novi Sad
After arriving in Vukovar, you can choose between a guided walking tour with beer tasting or a city tour that covers the town's heritage and history. You'll head back for lunch onboard, then cruise to Ilok where you have options like a guided city tour with wine tasting in a local cellar or a bike tour around the city walls and Principovac Castle. The ship overnight in Novi Sad.

In Novi Sad, Serbia's second largest city, you get to pick your activity: a guided tour through the Austro-Hungarian old town with its baroque buildings and ancient fortifications, a hike up to Petrovaradin for views of the Danube, or a discovery tour that includes the Honey Museum with tastings. There's live entertainment onboard this evening before you cruise overnight to Belgrade.

Belgrade sits where the Danube and Sava Rivers meet, and you can explore it several ways: walk the central area with your Adventure Host, take a guided sightseeing tour featuring Saint Sava Orthodox church and other city sights, or attend an onboard lecture about Balkan history and culture. The afternoon is free to wander Knez Mihailova Street, and there's an optional Bohemian dinner in Skadarlija Quarter if you're interested. You'll cruise overnight to Golubac.

Golubac to Iron Gates to Vidin
You'll visit Golubac Fortress, one of Europe's best-preserved medieval fortresses, and learn about its complicated history as a border control point between Serbia, the Habsburg Monarchy, and the Ottoman Empire. After that, you'll head to Lepenski Vir, a Mesolithic archaeological site with unique views of the Danube Gorge. The ship sails through the spectacular Iron Gates Gorge, a natural border between Serbia and Romania, before cruising to Vidin for the afternoon and overnight.

Vidin to Belogradchik to Rousse
In Vidin and Belogradchik, you'll have three options: a bike tour around the city, a guided sightseeing tour of Baba Vida Fortress and the remarkable rock formations in the Balkan Mountains, or a discovery tour about family winemaking with over two centuries of history and wine tasting in the cellars. After that, you'll cruise to Rousse for the afternoon and overnight.

Rousse to Veliko Tarnovo to Ivanovo to Oltenita
You can explore Rousse's old town by bike with your Adventure Host, or take a full-day guided tour to Veliko Tarnovo, the former Bulgarian capital, with ancient stone houses on cliffs above the Yantra River and Bulgarian Revival architecture in Arbanassi. There's also a guided sightseeing tour of Rousse and Holy Trinity Church, plus a scenic drive to the rock-hewn churches of Ivanovo, a UNESCO World Heritage site. A Bulgarian folklore show happens onboard this evening before cruising to Oltenita overnight.

Oltenita to Bucharest
You'll arrive in Bucharest, known as the Paris of the East. Take a guided tour through the Romanian capital that shows you tree-lined boulevards, the Arc de Triomphe honoring WWI soldiers, and Royal Palace Square, which was the site of the 1989 riots that overthrew Nicolae Ceausescu. Later, you have free time to explore shops and museums, and you can see beautiful homes and churches along Victory Avenue.
