Itinerary
- Day 1
Salta to Tolar Grande
Your hotel pickup happens early morning to start the Andean expedition heading toward Tolar Grande in the Argentine Puna. You'll stop in San Antonio de los Cobres for lunch where the Train of the Clouds sometimes passes through. During the drive through dramatic desert terrain, watch for llamas, condors, and vicuñas roaming the landscape. The route takes you through Abra de Alto Chorrillos, Salar de Pocitos, 7 Curvas, Desierto del Diablo, and Salar del Diablo with their colored salt flats and ochre dunes. By 6 PM you reach your homestay in the highlands.

Tolar Grande
After breakfast, you'll explore the main attractions around Tolar Grande starting with Cono de Arita and the surrounding highland area. The day includes time at Salar de Arizaro, El Arenal, and Ojos de Mar, each offering different views of the high altitude landscape. You're based at your homestay and working with your local guide to check out these various sites throughout the day.

- Day 3
Tolar Grande to Salta
You have breakfast at the homestay one final time before saying goodbye to your hosts and beginning the return journey with your driver/guide. The descent starts with sunrise views over the surrounding dunes and salt desert terrain as you head down the winding Andean tracks. A lunch stop happens again in San Antonio de los Cobres, and you arrive back in Salta by late afternoon.
