Itinerary
- Day 1
Ouarzazatte - Valley of Roses - Dades Gorges
Your private tour kicks off with a drive through the Atlas Mountains via Tizi-n-Tichka Pass. The road gets you to Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO site you might recognize from Gladiator or Game of Thrones. From there it's on to Ouarzazatte where you'll check out the Atlas Film Studios and explore a local Kasbah. After lunch, head through the Valley of Roses and end up at Dades Gorges for the night. The whole day involves a lot of driving, so pace yourself with snacks and water.

- Day 2
Erfoud - Rissani - Merzouga
Start the morning heading to Todra Gorge, a narrow canyon with colorful rock walls that rock climbers and hikers really go for. Drive through Ziz Valley and reach Erfoud by midday, where you can walk through a fossil factory and browse the shops. Next stop is Rissani's souk for some local browsing, then continue into the desert toward Merzouga. Leave your vehicle at a checkpoint and hop on a camel with an experienced guide for the ride across the dunes. By evening you're settling into a Berber tent at Merzouga Desert Camp.

- Day 3
Merzouga Desert
Get up early to catch the sunrise over the dunes, then head back to camp for breakfast. Spend the morning visiting nomadic communities around Merzouga and stop for tea in the souks while listening to traditional Gnawa music. After lunch, take a 4x4 through the desert to Khamlia village where you'll try Madfouna, a local Berber pizza made the traditional way. Later in the afternoon, find a spot to watch the sunset across the Sahara. The evening brings live music and a traditional Berber meal cooked over a campfire.

Merzouga to Fes
Rise early for another sunrise, then eat breakfast and grab a shower at camp. By morning you're in a 4x4 heading back to the Merzouga hotel. Your driver picks you up for the journey to Fes through the Middle Atlas with its green landscapes rolling by. Stop briefly in Er Rachidia to see the Ziz Valley palmeraie (that's the palm grove), then continue to Midelt for lunch around 1 p.m. Before reaching Fes, you'll stop in Ifrane to see its European-style architecture and perhaps spot some cedar forest monkeys in the trees. Pull into Fes around 6 p.m. and check into your hotel.

- Day 5
Fes
After breakfast your accredited local guide meets you to walk through the Fes medina. You'll wind through narrow twisting alleyways where donkeys and mules squeeze past, browse market stalls selling spices and perfumes, and visit the leather tanneries where craftspeople still work using techniques that go back centuries. It's a long day of walking and taking in the sights, so wear comfortable shoes. End the day with dinner at one of the medina's local restaurants, then head back to your hotel.

Volubilis - Meknes - Rabat - Casablanca
Leave Fes early heading west to the Roman ruins of Volubilis, where you can see well-preserved mosaics and old structures scattered across the site. Continue to Meknes for a quick stop, then push on to Rabat, Morocco's capital. There you'll see the Hassan Tower, check out the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and walk through the Kasbah of the Udayas. After that, drive on to Casablanca and finish with a visit to the Hassan II Mosque before settling into your final hotel.
