Bangkok
You'll land at Bangkok International Airport where your tour representative meets you for the transfer to your hotel. After checking in, the rest of the day is open to explore on your own terms. Consider getting a traditional Thai massage, trying some local food at a street vendor or restaurant, or heading to one of the rooftop bars to catch the sunset over the city.

Bangkok
This day focuses on Bangkok's major temples. Start at Wat Traimit to see the impressive 3-metre solid gold Buddha statue, then move to Wat Pho where you'll find the massive 46-metre reclining Buddha. Next comes the Grand Palace complex with its ornate royal buildings and the Emerald Buddha temple. Later in the afternoon, you'll stop at a local lapidary factory to check out locally-made jewellery and silk before heading back to your hotel.

Maeklong - Damnoen Saduak
After breakfast at the hotel, you'll head to Maeklong Railway Market to watch the train pass through in just minutes, a truly unique sight. From there, it's on to Damnoen Saduak floating market where colourful merchants paddle canoes loaded with fresh fruits and vegetables through the congested canals. The market's busy atmosphere makes it perfect for bargaining. You'll return to Bangkok in the evening.

Bangkok to Chiang Mai
You'll have breakfast at the hotel and then transfer to the airport for your included flight to Chiang Mai. After arriving and getting to your hotel, your guide picks you up at 1:30 pm for a temple tour through the old town. You'll see Wat Suan Dok with its 48-metre chedi, Wat Phra Sing containing 60+ buildings, the 14th-century Wat Chedi Luang, and then Wat Chet Yot and Wat Chiang Man with its distinctive elephant sculptures.

Breakfast comes first, then you're off to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep for panoramic views over the city. You can reach the temple by climbing the 309-step naga staircase or take the included cable car for easier access. Later, wander through the bustling Wararot Market and the fragrant flower market. In the evening, you'll enjoy an included khan toke dinner with traditional northern Thai food and cultural performances reflecting the historic Lanna kingdom.

Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai
After breakfast, you'll visit the Elephant Poopoopaper Park, an eco-friendly outdoor museum where you can learn about and help make paper from elephant waste. The interpretive walking tour takes you through lush gardens and eight pavilions. Following lunch, you'll continue to Wat Rong Khun, the striking White Temple with its ornate all-white exterior and mirror embellishments. You'll arrive in Chiang Rai in the afternoon and transfer to your hotel.

You'll check out after breakfast and head to Chiang Saen for views of the Golden Triangle where Laos, Myanmar and Thailand meet at the Mekong River. An included 30-minute boat ride lets you see the area from the water. After lunch at a local restaurant, you'll transfer to Chiang Rai Airport for your flight to Bangkok, then catch a connecting included flight to Phuket. Upon arrival, your transfer takes you to your hotel.
