- Day 1Cape Town to CederbergYour African adventure begins in the Cape Flats where you'll meet local residents and check out community projects happening in the area. After that, you board the overland truck heading north through the Western Cape, passing through Citrusdal's fruit-growing region. By evening you'll reach a lodge beside the Olifants River in the Cederberg mountains, where you can try some local wines. - Meals

- Day 2Cederberg to Orange RiverThe terrain gets drier and rockier as you head north toward the Namibian border, crossing at Vioolsdrift. You'll camp right next to the Gariep (Orange) River, which marks the border between South Africa and Namibia. The river is safe for swimming, and the dark skies here make for excellent stargazing since there's so little light pollution in this remote area. - Meals

- Day 3Orange River to Fish River CanyonThis morning there's an optional canoe safari available if you didn't do it yesterday. Later, you drive north to Fish River Canyon, the second largest canyon in the world after the Grand Canyon, dropping more than 500 metres deep and stretching 160km. You'll stop at viewpoints and visit Hell's Corner, known for its sharp dramatic bend in the canyon. - Meals

- Day 4Fish River Canyon to Sesriem AreaIt's a long drive north to the Sesriem area, where you'll arrive on the edge of Namib-Naukluft National Park. This park protects huge expanses of the Namib Desert and the Naukluft mountains, making it a stunning base for exploring what comes next. - Meals

- Day 5Sesriem Area to Solitaire Area via Namib-Naukluft National ParkStart your desert exploration by climbing Dune 45, one of the tallest sand dunes here, and the climb rewards you with incredible views across the landscape. Next you'll visit Deadvlei, a stark white salt pan scattered with petrified trees and surrounded by rolling red sand dunes. Before heading to camp in Solitaire, you'll stop at Sesriem Canyon to check it out. - Meals

- Day 8Swakopmund to SpitzkoppeLeaving Swakopmund, you head inland into Damaraland toward Spitzkoppe, a mountain peak that rises to 1800 metres and features incredibly well-preserved bushmen paintings and spectacular rock formations. As the sun moves across the sky, watch the rocks shift through different colours, which is especially beautiful at sunrise and sunset. You'll camp at the mountain's base tonight. - Meals

- Day 11Etosha National Park to WindhoekYou arrive in Windhoek, Namibia's capital city with around 470,000 residents and lots of German colonial architecture scattered throughout. The camp sits on the city's edge, making it easy to head into town for food and exploring. Many people visit Joe's Beerhouse, which is probably Namibia's most famous restaurant, if you want to eat there. - Meals

- Day 12Windhoek to GobabisHead east to Gobabis near the Botswanan border to meet local San Bushmen, one of the oldest surviving cultures in Southern Africa. You'll take a bush walk with them to learn about their way of life, which has lasted for centuries. The San people work closely with nature and manage resources in a sustainable way. - Meals

- Days 14 - 15Okavango Delta to MaunThis morning you'll take another mokoro ride back out of the delta before returning to Maun. If you didn't have the scenic flight on Day 13, there's time for it now. You also have the option to try horse riding or simply relax by the pool at the campsite before heading back. - Meals

- Day 16Maun to Nata RegionDrive through a wildlife corridor between the desolate Nxai and Makgadikgadi pans. Along the way, you'll stop to admire towering baobab trees standing across the landscape. By afternoon you reach your unfenced camp. You might be lucky enough to see elephants and antelope walk right up to the camp area. - Meals

- Day 17Nata Region to KasaneJourney to Kasane in Botswana's north, which is the gateway to Chobe National Park. Later today you'll enjoy a cruise on the Chobe River where huge herds of elephants often come down to the water's edge. You'll also see hippos, crocodiles, buffalo and the rare African fish eagle. - Meals

- Day 18Kasane to Livingstone via Chobe National ParkStart with a morning game drive through Chobe National Park in specialized safari vehicles with a resident guide. The park is home to all of the Big Five, though rhinos are extremely rare here. Afterward, you board a ferry in the overland truck to cross the Chobe and Zambezi rivers into Zambia, arriving in Livingstone. Visit Victoria Falls (Mosi oa Tunya, meaning 'the Smoke that Thunders'), and camp on the Zambezi River banks. - Meals
