- Day 1
Luang Prabang
Your driver meets you at Luang Prabang airport and takes you to your hotel for check-in. Early check-in is possible if you request it ahead of time. After settling in, the rest of the day is yours to walk around this UNESCO World Heritage Site at whatever pace feels right. You'll get your first feel for the town's layout and atmosphere.

- Day 2
Luang Prabang
After breakfast, you'll head to the Royal Palace Museum to see the former royal residence. Later, a boat takes you upstream on the Mekong River to Pak Ou Caves, where thousands of gold Buddha statues fill the caverns. The trip includes a stop at Ban Xanghai village to watch how locals make rice wine. Back in town, you'll see Wat Sene temple and then Wat Xiengthong, which is considered the most beautiful temple in Luang Prabang. From there, you check out Heuan Chan mansion before catching the sunset from Wat Prabath. Your day ends at the Night Market, which is the place to grab dinner and wander through local stalls.

Luang Prabang to Vientiane
This morning starts early with the alms giving ceremony where you observe Buddhist monks collecting offerings. Afterward, you'll walk through the morning market to see fresh produce and local goods. Back at your hotel, you have breakfast before climbing 329 steps up Phousi Hill for views across the city and down to the Mekong River. Later you head to Kuang Si waterfall with its three tiers and pools perfect for swimming. If interested, you can visit Ban Thapene village or the Bear Rescue Center, and there's also time to check out Ock Pop Tock Living Craft Center. By afternoon, you board a 2-hour speed train heading south to Vientiane.

- Day 4
Vientiane
Your Vientiane day starts at Wat Si Muang, then a 45-minute drive takes you to Buddha Park where over 200 Buddhist and Hindu statues are spread throughout the grounds. You'll then visit COPE, which documents the impact of landmines and the history of the American and Vietnam war. From there, you go to That Luang, the holiest religious site in all of Laos. Before evening, you climb Patuxay monument for panoramic city views, and afterward check out Wat Sisaket and Wat Phra Keo temples. As the sun starts to set, you take a walk along the Mekong River to finish your day.

Xing Xu Island
You'll travel out to Xing Xu Island, which sits beyond Vientiane. After reaching Ban Kaolieu, a boat carries you to the island where you'll spend time with locals living there. There's a visit to a local temple that people come to for lottery number seeking, and you'll explore the small village of about 200 people. A tuk-tuk or local tractor gives you a tour around the island. Lunch happens at a restaurant on the island, and then you'll have time to relax in the peaceful setting before heading back to your hotel.
