Itinerary
- Day 1
Marrakech to Imlil to Jebel Toukbal Refuge
Your hotel pickup in Marrakech gets you to Imlil village where the trek starts. From there, you'll follow the Mizane Valley and pass through Aremd village and the shrine of Sidi Chamarouch on your way up. The path gets steeper as it winds along mule tracks and rocky cliffs, zigzagging higher until you reach the refuge at 3206m/10,518ft for your first night. Bring layers since temperatures drop significantly at elevation.

Jebel Toukbal Summit
Starting early before dawn, you'll make your summit push on Jebel Toukbal at 4,167m/13,671ft, the highest peak in Northern Africa. The route goes up the south cirque with streams to cross above the refuge. It's not technically difficult but the scree slope and thin air make it physically demanding. Once on top, you can see across the Marrakesh Plain, the High Atlas range to the north, and the Anti-Atlas with the Sahara spreading south. After taking in the views, you'll head back down to the refuge to rest.

Landmarks Jebel Toukbal - Day 3
Jebel Toukbal Refuge to Imlil to Marrakech
You'll make your way back down from the refuge, retracing the same route through the Mizane Valley and back to Imlil village. From there, your transfer takes you back to your hotel in Marrakech. The descent is easier on your legs but takes time, so plan to arrive in town by evening.
