Fairbanks
You'll arrive in Fairbanks and get settled into your accommodations for the start of your Alaskan trip. After dinner with the other travelers, you'll head out after 10pm to look for the Northern Lights dancing across the Arctic sky.

Fairbanks
A guided tour takes you around Fairbanks to see the city's highlights, including stops at the Morris Thompson Cultural and Visitors Center where you can learn about Alaska's seasonal changes and cultural history through exhibits and dioramas. Then you'll head to the University of Alaska Museum of the North to check out 2,000 years of Alaskan art, wildlife displays, and landscape pieces. After some rest time in the afternoon, you get another chance to watch for the Northern Lights from a different location.

Fairbanks to Talkeetna
The Alaska Railroad Aurora Winter Train takes you from Fairbanks down to Talkeetna, and you'll have great views of snow-covered scenery from your warm seat with large windows. If it's clear, you might spot Denali above the Susitna River and possibly see moose in the distance. Once you arrive in Talkeetna, you'll visit the Murie Science and Learning Centre to learn about Denali's stories and science. You'll spend the night at Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge, then meet with photographer 'Aurora Dora' for a photography lesson on capturing the night sky before heading out to view the Aurora Borealis from the lodge deck.

Talkeetna
This day is yours to explore Talkeetna at your own pace. You can walk around this small Alaskan community and visit the Talkeetna Historical Society and Museum, or if you prefer, there are optional outdoor excursions available in the surrounding natural areas.

Anchorage
You'll spend the full day learning about Alaskan culture and wildlife. First, stop at Musk Ox Farm to see Arctic musk oxen, those Ice Age animals that once lived alongside sabre-toothed tigers and woolly mammoths, and find out how they adapted to survive in such harsh conditions. From there, you'll head to Alaska Native Heritage Centre for a local impact experience exploring 10,000 years of Alaska Native history and culture through art, dance, Native Games demonstrations, exhibits, and traditional dwellings.

Anchorage
You'll drive along the Scenic Seward Byway toward Portage to visit Alaska Wildlife Conservation Centre. A local specialist guides you through this non-profit facility that works to rehabilitate and preserve Alaska's wildlife. You'll see moose, elk, bears, lynx, foxes, and other resident animals up close. After that, you'll head back to Anchorage for a farewell dinner with your travel group to reflect on your Alaskan experiences.
