Cathy· October 21st, 2025Great overview of England, Scotland and Wales. Peter W. is an excellent, fun guide. - CWCurtis· September 25th, 2025Lots of sights to see on this trip. Most of the optional excursions were very good. The tour of Shakespear's birth place was neat - but not impressed with the tea and fingers sandwiches afterwards. The best part was probably Scotland and our group dinner in the Highlands. One suggestion I have is to start and end the tour at some other location than the Novotel in Greenwich. Although it was right next to a train station, it was very difficult to get to and from Heathrow Airport.Show moreTrip date: September 2025

- LHLarry· July 14th, 2025In summary, this was one of the most disappointing vacations I have ever experienced. And at many levels. To begin, the information available from you about this trip was inadequate and misleading - if not completely deceptive. And, unlike every other touring organization, it was extremely difficult to communicate with you. Absolutely impossible to call directly to obtain detailed information. So item by item. Your initial I al meeting place was extremely inconvenient to reach. Why not at the airport or downtown London. Plus you dud not disclose the location of the two hotels initially - so I booked reservations elsewhere. Secondly, this was the first time I have ever experienced having all the daily tour excursions as "optional" and requiring additional payment. This absolutely was not made clear in your advertising. The amount of time riding on the bus was horrible - perhaps 2/3 or 3/4 of our total vacation time. Consequently the amount of time actually spent to our major destinations was wholly inadequate Normally arriving in the evening and departing very early morning. The experience in Edinburgh was the worst. How dare you put us up at a distant airport hotel? What an abysmal experience. A 40 tram ride into town. One of the highlights of any vacation is being able to step out of the hotel and be in the middle of town. This gross inconvenience was NOT disclosed! I purchased a single supplement. However twice I was placed in a tiny single room. I should be reimbursed. Indeed, the organization with which I normally tour, Overseas Adventure Travel NEVER charge for a single supplement on its land tours. Finally, most of the daily excursions were a complete waist of time and money. Particularly the two silly lake cruises. I will never tour with your organization again. And I will strongly discourage any friends from doing so. One positive note. The tour leader, Peter W was excellent.Show moreTrip date: July 2025

What our customers ask about this tour
The content in our FAQ section is subject to change.- JJoanna Asked on August 25th, 2025Do you happen to know if site visit entrance fees are included in the price package already? What about tips for your guide - do we need to tip extra? Expat Explore TravelOperator•Written August 2025 Expat Explore TravelOperator•Written August 2025- As for tipping – it is not compulsory, but always appreciated if your parents feel their tour leader or driver has gone above and beyond. Many travelers choose to give a small tip at the end of the trip as a gesture of thanks.
- JJoanna Traveler•Written August 2025Do you happen to have some examples of the entrance fees that are not included already? What about insurance - are we able to get our own insurance from another country? Or how do people deal with insurance on the tour?
Expat Explore TravelOperator•Written August 2025 Expat Explore TravelOperator•Written August 2025- Regarding travel insurance, you may add it when checking out if offered, or alternatively, purchase coverage from another provider in your country. We recommend insurance that covers trip cancellation and interruption, medical assistance and repatriation, and lost or damaged baggage.
- JJoanna Traveler•Written August 2025On the last day, does the bus make any scheduled stop between Stonehenge and London/Greenwich, or does it go non-stop to Greenwich train station?
Expat Explore TravelOperator•Written August 2025 Expat Explore TravelOperator•Written August 2025- On the final day, after visiting Stonehenge, the coach will travel directly back to London/Greenwich without any further scheduled stops. The tour will end with a drop-off at the designated ending point specified for your departure.

He can apply online by visiting the GOV.UK website.

- RRobert Asked on July 21st, 2025My children will be 12 and 14. What would be the cost for them if we chose a 7 day tour? Expat Explore TravelOperator•Written July 2025 Expat Explore TravelOperator•Written July 2025- Although we allow minors from 10-17 to join the tour, there is no price difference since our Tours are offered as a package.

- JJackie Asked on July 1st, 2025I will be 78 and therefore outside your specified age range. But I am fit and active, cycling or walking for around an hour most mornings. I seek an exception on the specified age range. Expat Explore TravelOperator•Written July 2025 Expat Explore TravelOperator•Written July 2025- We have a very wide range of ages on our tours, and we don't restrict our passengers to specific age groups or limits. A positive attitude and an open mind are far more important to us than any number! If you're enthusiastic about the experience and ready for the adventure, you're more than welcome to join us.

- OOliver Asked on June 20th, 2025Would you accept him to the tour Expat Explore TravelOperator•Written June 2025 Expat Explore TravelOperator•Written June 2025- That should be fine with us but it will ultimately be up to your husband if he is okay with the active nature of the tour. We believe the best way to get to the heart and soul of a city is on foot, surrounded by the people and the culture. For this reason, we do walking tours through most of the cities we visit. Many of the cities you visit are vast and old, often with steps and cobblestones. Our walking tours can last up to 3 hours with plenty of opportunities to take photographs and soak up the history of these fascinating places, but you do require a certain level of fitness to enjoy your tour to its fullest. If the above statement is fine with your husband and does not pose any risks, then he is more than welcome to join the tour.

- NNathan Asked on June 6th, 2025What time is the meet time for the first day? Looking at flight, I won't be able to land at London until 930am Expat Explore TravelOperator•Written June 2025 Expat Explore TravelOperator•Written June 2025- On Day 1 of the tour, there are 2 Meet Up Locations with specified meet up times. Outside Novotel London Greenwich hotel 173-185 Greenwich High Road, London, SE10 8JA 06:30 AM. Hotel lobby at Holiday Inn Express London - Greenwich 85 Bugsby Way, Greenwich, London, SE10 0GD 07:00 AM. It is important to be able to join the tour at those times since the group will Travel to Cambridge at around 7:30 AM and then to York where the first night's accommodation will be. If you will be arriving at a later time on Day 1, it will still be fine, but you would have to make your way to Cambridge or York to join the group.

- EEmma Asked on June 3rd, 2025I want to ask if there is any possibility that the date july 27th will be available for this tour Expat Explore TravelOperator•Written June 2025 Expat Explore TravelOperator•Written June 2025- I have sent an inquiry to our Operations Team and will let you know right way once I get a reply from them. - EEmma Traveler•Written June 202514 and 16 years old
Expat Explore TravelOperator•Written June 2025 Expat Explore TravelOperator•Written June 2025- They can no longer add more seats to the tour and date that you are interested in. They confirmed with the Hotels that there aren't any available rooms to accommodate more travelers at this point.

- JJoseph Asked on May 22nd, 2025I'd like to know the details about the accommodation. Specifically: how are the rooms assigned/how do we choose a roommate and what is the additional cost to book a private room for the duration of the tour? Expat Explore TravelOperator•Written May 2025 Expat Explore TravelOperator•Written May 2025- Our standard accommodation is twin-share, and you will be paired with a tour participant of the same gender. If you are traveling with someone and would like to share a room, just let us know, and we'll try our best to accommodate. For a private room, we offer upgrade options and will need to know your preferred currency to provide accurate pricing.
- JJoseph Traveler•Written May 2025How much is it per private room per person (so one private room for each person) in GBP?
Expat Explore TravelOperator•Written May 2025 Expat Explore TravelOperator•Written May 2025- We confirm that the additional cost of £485 per person applies for those who prefer a private room rather than shared accommodation. If everyone in your group opts for their own private room, this will be the additional cost per person.

- GGloria Asked on May 1st, 2025I would like to keep my daughter in the same room with my wife and myself. What will be the price. Expat Explore TravelOperator•Written May 2025 Expat Explore TravelOperator•Written May 2025- As per Hotel rules and policy, three travelers are not permitted to stay in one room with twin beds. The third traveler would need to either be roomed with a fellow traveler of the same gender or purchase a single supplement. If your daughter is below 18, she will need to be roomed with either you or your wife and the other adult can either room with another traveler of the same gender or get a Single Room Upgrade.
