Itinerary
- Day 1
Ushuaia
You'll touch down in Ushuaia, the world's southernmost city. After staff greet you and get you to your hotel, the afternoon and evening are open. The Museo del Fin del Mundo covers local history and wildlife if that interests you. Alternatively, head into Tierra del Fuego National Park for hiking, or take a boat out on the Beagle Channel to look for wildlife.

Beagle Channel to Sub-Antarctic Islands
After breakfast at the hotel, you'll board the Sea Spirit and begin heading toward the sub-Antarctic islands. The ship cruises through the Beagle Channel, giving you time to find your cabin and walk around the vessel before settling in for your first night onboard.

Crossing to Falkland Islands
The ship heads toward the Falkland Islands while the expedition team runs briefings and lectures throughout the day. Bird enthusiasts will find plenty to watch during the crossing. Between sessions, you can hang out in the ship's bar, grab a meal, or relax in the lounge while chatting about equipment and what's coming up.

Falkland Islands
You'll have time to explore the Falkland Islands, a remote place perfect for birdwatching and spotting marine mammals. Stanley, the British capital, has several things within walking distance: the Falkland Islands Museum, Governor's House, a cathedral with a whalebone arch, a war memorial, shops, pubs, and old shipwrecks visible from shore. Weather will decide exactly where you can get to and what you'll see.

Crossing to South Georgia
The ship heads east from the Falkland Islands toward South Georgia, crossing the Antarctic Convergence where the Southern Ocean's biology shifts dramatically. The team gives presentations and lectures to prepare you for arrival while you spend time on deck or in the ship's common areas.

South Georgia
South Georgia delivers some of the planet's best wildlife viewing. You'll see hundreds of thousands of king penguins at places like Gold Harbour and Salisbury Plain. Over 100,000 elephant seals and three million fur seals call this place home too. The historic Grytviken whaling station and South Georgia Museum are also stops, with Ernest Shackleton's grave at the museum. Where exactly you land and what you see depends on weather and ice, so the captain and expedition leader adjust the plan as conditions change.

Crossing with Marine Life Observation
During the crossing, the expedition team offers presentations while you meet other travelers. From the open deck, you'll spot seabirds and marine life: South Polar skuas, snow petrels, and albatrosses. If sea ice appears, it creates dramatic scenery and wildlife opportunities throughout the day.

Falkland Islands Return
Another day in the Falkland Islands exploring this remote wilderness and looking for wildlife. The waters around the islands hold millions of seabirds plus marine mammals like whales, Peale's dolphins, and Commerson's dolphins if conditions allow you to get out on the water.

Drake Passage Crossing
As the ship approaches the Drake Passage, seabirds return, completing a full cycle of wildlife viewing from when you started. Spend the day relaxing in the ship's lounges and on deck, reflecting on everything you've seen and experienced throughout the expedition.

Disembarkation in Ushuaia
After breakfast, you'll disembark in Ushuaia and transfer to the airport for your flight home or onward travel. Your Antarctic expedition ends here as you begin your individual journey back.
