- RANDY· September 22nd, 2025This was a great tour- tour director was very well organized and knowledgeable. The name might be incorrect- the day we visited Vatican and Coliseum we walked 16,000 steps, the equivalent of 8 miles. Coach and driver were great with nice leg room. Only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is the first hotel- Room 007, Select Veneto in Rome was a very poor choice compared to the 2 wonderful hotels Insight used in Florence and Venice. Unfortunately we had booked a 2 night extension in Rome so were there for 5 nights. Very small rooms, poor front desk experiences and mediocre breakfast.Show more

Asked on August 25th, 2025Is there a more detailed itinerary for the "Rome with the Locals" locals day? We have a few extra days in Rome and want to avoid doubling up on the same attractions.
Insight VacationsOperator•Written August 2025The day 2 "Rome with the Locals" schedule includes breakfast at 07:30, followed by a hotel departure at 08:30. Sightseeing with the Local Expert begins at 09:00, including a visit to view the Vatican City. Guests will then have free time for an early lunch and souvenir shopping, before a panoramic drive across Rome at 12:00. At 13:00, the group will enjoy an included visit to the Colosseum, after which non-optional guests will be transferred back to the hotel. Please note that these are approximate timings and may be subject to change based on local conditions or scheduling adjustments. The detailed itinerary, including specific timings, will be through your Travel Director once the tour begins.
