Itinerary
- Day 1
Belize City
Your guide meets you at Belize City Airport and drives you to Hotel Biltmore Plaza, where you'll stay for the next two nights. Once you've checked in, spend the rest of the day getting oriented and resting up before the adventure starts tomorrow.
- Day 2
Lamanai
After breakfast, you're driven to Tower Hill to board a riverboat heading into a nature reserve. The boat takes you along the New River to Lamanai, a major Maya city that's been inhabited for thousands of years. You'll walk through the ruins with your guide, then head back to Belize City for a quick tour of the downtown area. It's about 160 km of travel today, so plan for a full day.

San Ignacio
This morning starts with a one-hour rainforest hike to a cave entrance. From there, you'll float through cave systems on a tire, using a headlamp to see in the darkness. After cave tubing, you drive to San Ignacio and visit Xunantunich, where structures reach up to 130 meters high. You'll stay at Cahal Pech Village Resort for the next three nights. The drive covers about 140 km.

Landmarks/POIs Xunantunich - Day 4
Tikal
Today's the big one. Your guide leads you through Tikal, the major Maya site located deep in the Guatemalan jungle. You'll walk through the North and Central Acropolis, the Central Square, Temple IV, and Mundo Perdido before heading back to San Ignacio. It's roughly 250 km of driving, so it's a long day but worth it.

Caracol
You drive two to three hours from San Ignacio into the Maya Mountains to reach Caracol, a hidden Mayan site. The 'heavenly palace' structure offers unique views and great photo spots. On the way back, you'll explore a stalactite cave and swim in the Rio On Pools to cool off. Expect about 170 km of travel.

South Water Caye
The drive along Hummingbird Highway takes you south to Hopkins, a Garifuna town right on the Caribbean. From there, a boat takes you to Bounty Island and South Water Caye. You'll spend time snorkeling on the Belize Barrier Reef, then continue to San Antonio where you'll check into Cotton Tree Lodge for two nights. This leg covers roughly 270 km.

Lubaantun
After breakfast, you head to Lubaantun, a Maya site rediscovered in the late 1800s and known for its unusual building methods. Then you follow the Cacao Trail into Maya territory to visit a cocoa plantation. The farmer there shares stories about family life and explains why cocoa was so important to their culture. It's only about 40 km total.

Belize City
On the way back to Belize City, you stop at Blue Hole National Park for a swim in the cenote, a deep blue pool surrounded by jungle. Later, you visit the Belize Zoo, which has around 125 native species across 12 hectares. After exploring there, it's back to Belize City and then to the airport for your flight out. Count on about 350 km for this final day.
