Amman
You'll arrive at the airport and get transferred to your hotel in Amman. After settling in, you'll have time to rest from your journey. Dinner is arranged for this evening so you can relax and get your bearings.

- Day 2
Amman - Desert Castles
This morning starts with a guided tour of Amman's ancient citadel, where you'll see the Temple of Hercules, the Umayyad palace complex, and a Byzantine church. From there, you'll check out the archaeological museum and the Roman Theater. The Folklore Museum comes next before lunch. In the afternoon, you'll drive out to the desert castles: Qasr Al-Kharrane, Qasr Amra with its Omayyad murals, and Qasr Azraq with its black basalt walls. These 8th-century hunting lodges sit in desert oases and give you a real sense of the Omayyad period.

As-Salt - Dead Sea
You'll head to As-Salt, Jordan's first capital, where you can walk through sites shaped by Romans, Byzantines, Mamluks, and Ottomans. The Abu Jaber Museum, Archaeological Museum, and Khader Church are on your itinerary. After exploring the town, you'll drive to the Dead Sea, which sits 1,312 feet below sea level. You can float in the incredibly buoyant water at Amman Beach or apply Dead Sea mud for healing benefits (additional cost). Later you'll return to Amman for the evening.

Jerash - Ajlun
You'll drive to Jerash to see one of the most well-preserved Roman-Hellenistic cities from over 2,000 years ago. The Hadrian Gate and Temple of Artemis are highlights as you walk through the ancient streets. After lunch, you'll head to Qalat Al Rabad Castle in Ajlun, an old Arab fortress built by Salaheddine for protection against the Crusaders. You'll drive back to Amman in the evening.

- Day 5
Madaba - Petra
Start with breakfast and then drive to Madaba to see the Byzantine mosaics, particularly the historic map of Palestine inside the Greek Orthodox Church of St. George. The route south follows the scenic Royal Road with views dropping down into the Jordan Rift Valley. Stop at Mount Nebo for the panoramic views over the Dead Sea, and after that check out the 12th-century Karak Castle before arriving in Petra for the night. The pink rock city itself is where you'll stay, so you'll have time to settle in and maybe take a walk around the main area before dinner.

- Day 6
Petra - Wadi Rum
You'll explore Petra, the rock-carved city carved into pink stone with its temples and buildings. There's an optional horse ride through the Siq (the entrance gorge), then you'll continue on foot to see the Treasury and the sculpted caves and structures throughout the site. Late afternoon you'll drive to Wadi Rum's desert valley with its towering rock formations. You'll spend the night in a deluxe tent at a desert camp under the stars, which gives you a real feel for the desert landscape.

- Day 7
Wadi Rum - Aqaba
Following breakfast, head out into Wadi Rum in off-road vehicles with local Bedouin guides to see the distinctive moon-like landscape and rocky formations. You'll drive around Mount Al Khazali and stop to look at ancient rock inscriptions carved over centuries including Thamudic, Nabataean, Greek and Arabic pictograms. After spending the morning and early afternoon exploring the desert terrain, you'll transfer to Aqaba, which is about 140 km away, arriving by late afternoon.
