7 Days in Jordan, incl. Amman and Petra
Rich cultural heritage awaits at 4 key destinations: Amman's ancient ruins, 2 nights in Wadi Rum's desert camps, 2 full days exploring Petra's wonders, and Madaba's mosaic city. The tour features Dead Sea float and Mt Nebo visit, perfectly paced for ages 5+.

- Days 1-2
Amman & Transit to Wadi Rum
Start at the Amman Citadel in the morning to see city views and Roman ruins. Visit Rainbow Street for local falafel before 1 PM to avoid the lunch rush. "The falafel stands near Rainbow Street serve the best I've had, but get there early as locals pack the place during lunch hour." Take the 4-hour drive south to Wadi Rum and arrive for sunset. Your Bedouin camp will provide basic bedding, but bring a light sleeping bag and warm layers. Desert nights are surprisingly cold even in summer months.

- Days 2-3
Wadi Rum Desert Experience
Get up early at 5:30 AM to watch the sunrise over the red dunes. Join a 4WD jeep safari to explore Lawrence Spring and the natural rock bridges. "The morning jeep tour is much more comfortable temperature-wise than afternoon tours. Bring a scarf to protect from sand and sun." Spend another night at the desert camp. If the weather is good and the moon is new, sleep under the stars between 10 PM and 4 AM to see the Milky Way in full glory.

- Days 4-5
Petra
It's a 2-hour drive to Petra. Walk through the Siq to the Treasury first thing at 7 AM before the crowds arrive. The walk takes about 40 minutes each way. Make sure to wear shoes with good grip since the ancient stones can be slippery. Use your second day for hiking. Choose between the Monastery trail (800 steps, 2-3 hours round trip) or the High Place of Sacrifice (40 minutes up). "We wished we had a third day in Petra - two days feels rushed if you want to do both major hikes. The Monastery is a must but start by 8 AM before the heat."

- Day 6
Dead Sea & Madaba
- Day 7
Madaba
7 Days in Jordan, incl. Petra and Dead Sea
A week-long adventure through 9 major destinations across Jordan, from Amman's Roman Amphitheater to Petra's Treasury. Guests stay 2 nights each at Marriott properties in Amman, Petra, and Dead Sea, with 6 breakfasts and 5 dinners included.

- Day 1
Amman
Arrive at Queen Alia International Airport in Amman. The drive to downtown takes about 45 minutes but plan for longer during rush hour (7-9 AM and 3-6 PM). Book your hotel in the upscale Jabal Amman or Abdoun areas. Take it easy on your first day and visit Rainbow Street in the evening when it's cooler to try some local restaurants.

- Day 2
Amman, Jerash & Umm Qais
Leave early at 7 AM to avoid traffic and heat. Start at the Roman Amphitheater in downtown Amman before driving 45 minutes north to Jerash. One traveler shared: "The Greco-Roman ruins at Jerash were incredibly well-preserved - get there before 10 AM to avoid both crowds and the midday sun." From there, it's a 90-minute drive to Umm Qais where you'll get amazing views of the Sea of Galilee and Golan Heights. Bring good walking shoes since the ancient stones can be slippery.

- Day 3
Wadi Rum
Drive south for about 4 hours to reach Wadi Rum by early afternoon. You'll want to take a 4x4 jeep tour through the desert when the light is best, about 2-3 hours before sunset. Bring a light jacket for after dark when temperatures drop. A recent visitor said: "The 4x4 experience in Wadi Rum was unforgettable - watching the sunset over the red dunes while our driver prepared Bedouin tea was magical."

- Day 4
Petra
Start your Petra visit right when it opens (6 AM in summer, 7 AM in winter). You'll spend about 30 minutes walking through the Siq to reach the Treasury. Take lots of water and protect yourself from the sun since there's not much shade. It's worth getting a local guide at the visitor center for the morning to learn about the site's history. If you're up for it, climb the 800 steps to the Monastery in the afternoon when fewer people are around.

- Day 5
Kerak to Dead Sea
Drive about 2 hours from Petra to Kerak Castle. Remember to bring a flashlight for the dark corridors. Continue to Wadi Mujib for some incredible views along the drive. Plan to reach the Dead Sea by late afternoon for a swim in the mineral-rich waters. Important safety tips: Keep the water out of your eyes and wear water shoes to protect your feet from sharp salt crystals.

- Day 6
Madaba & Mount Nebo
Take a 45-minute drive to Madaba to see the famous mosaic map in St. George's Church. Visit Mount Nebo next, but try to get there before 11 AM to beat the tour buses. Go back to the Dead Sea for your last afternoon. One traveler noted: "Don't miss the sunset over the Dead Sea - the colors reflecting off the salt formations are incredible."
- Day 7
Departure
Book an afternoon flight if possible to avoid morning traffic to the airport. The drive from the Dead Sea takes about an hour without traffic.
What people love about 7-day Jordan tours
- One Week in Jordan
Amazing views! Jordan is a beautiful country! So much history and sites to see!
- Wonders of Jordan Luxury Private Tour
Everything was wonderful
- Best of Jordan
This was a great trip! I loved the group I was with and the places we visited. My only feedback was the lunch options that were buffet style. I am a vegetarian and the places we went to were expensive. I would have like another food option at this times. I do with we had longer Jeep ride at wadi rum and I would have paid more for that. The hotels we stayed at were nice and the bus was really nice. Great trip and awesome memories!
