Itinerary
- Day 1
Luxor
After arriving at Luxor airport or your hotel, you'll get a transfer to the cruise ship pier. Once onboard around noon, settle into your cabin and get oriented. Before dinner, head out to see the temples of Luxor and Karnak, which sit on opposite banks and show off different periods of ancient Egyptian architecture. You'll walk through massive columns and hieroglyphic-covered walls at both sites. By evening, return to the ship for cocktails and dinner, where you can meet other passengers and start getting to know the vessel.

Start early and head out to the Valley of the Kings where you'll walk through tombs carved into the rock face. After that, you'll stop at Deir El Madina to see where the workers lived during ancient times. The Temple of Hatshepsut comes next, and it's quite something to see built right into the cliffs. Before boarding your boat, you'll swing by the Colossi of Memnon, two massive stone statues that have stood for thousands of years. Once on the river boat, you'll sail toward Esna and have the afternoon pretty much to yourself to relax on deck or explore however you'd like.

Esna to Kom Ombo
Get on the coach early and travel to Edfu, where the Temple of Horus is one of the most well-preserved temples you'll find in Egypt. Spend time walking through the pylons and inner chambers to get a sense of how grand it was. From there, continue on to Kom Ombo where another temple sits right on the riverbank. This one's different because it was built for two gods, so the layout reflects that dual purpose. Once you arrive at Kom Ombo, you'll settle into your cabin and get oriented at the riverboat for the evening.

Later, you'll take a trip out to Philae Temple on an island in the middle of the water, which has a peaceful quality all its own. Before heading back to the ship, you'll spend some time in the botanical garden walking around tropical plants and trees. The whole rhythm of the day is a bit slower here compared to the earlier temple sites.
