Itinerary
- Day 1
Oslo
You'll land in Oslo and head to your hotel near the central station on your own. Since you're staying 2 nights here, take time to settle in and get oriented with the capital. The area around the station is pretty walkable, so you can do some initial wandering if you're not too tired from your flight.
- Day 2
Oslo
Spend the day checking out Oslo's highlights. Start with Gustav Vigeland Park, where you'll find over 200 bronze and granite sculptures spread across the green space. Walk down Karl Johan, the main pedestrian street, then visit the National Theater if you're interested in architecture. By the harbor, see Akershus Fortress and the Royal Castle. Head to Bygdøy island for several museums if you have energy, or catch the new opera house and Munch Museum. If skiing interests you, the Holmenkollen ski jump is also accessible. You can see quite a bit by combining neighborhoods, though you won't fit everything into one day.

The train drops roughly 870 meters over about 20 km as you head down to Flåm on the Aurlandsfjord, arriving around 2:30 pm. The Sognefjord, which branches here, stretches over 200 km and locals call it the King of the Fjords. You're settled in Flåm for one night, and there's a microbrewery worth checking out if you have time before dinner.
