Itinerary
- Day 1
Saarburg
You'll arrive in Saarburg on your own and get ready to board the MS Olympia starting at 4 pm. Before that, wander through the town's narrow lanes and check out the half-timbered houses and colorful fishermen's cottages scattered throughout. The official welcome happens around 6 pm, so you'll have a few hours to get a feel for the place first.

Saarburg to Trier
After breakfast, you'll head out on a cycling tour toward an oxbow lake on the Saar River. From there, you'll pedal through Luxembourg and pass by Wasserbillig on your way to the Igeler Säule. Later in the afternoon, the route takes you toward Trier where the MS Olympia is waiting. You'll stop to see the Porta Nigra, that massive Roman gate that's been standing there for centuries.

Trier to Mehring
Once you're done with breakfast, you'll cycle to Mehring, which sits in the middle of the Mosel-Saar-Ruwer wine region and happens to be the largest wine-growing village around. The landscape here is ringed by vineyards, forests, and meadows, and it's the same terrain that Romans were cultivating over 2,000 years ago.

Mehring to Piesport
Today centers on wine history. You'll cycle to Neumagen Dhron first to see a replica of an old Roman wine ship, then keep going to Piesport, the largest wine-growing town on the Moselle. This is where you'll find what's considered the largest Roman wine press ever uncovered north of the Alps, so it's quite a piece of history.

Bernkastel-Kues to Zell an der Mosel
You'll start cycling from Bernkastel-Kues and head along the right bank of the Moselle, following the river as it winds through the landscape. The route takes you to Zell an der Mosel, famous for the 'Zeller Schwarze Katz' vineyard. You can take time to look around and try some local wines while you're there.

Zell an der Mosel to Cochem
Cycling from Zell an der Mosel, you'll head to Beilstein, the charming town people call the 'Rothenburg on the Moselle.' After that, continue on to Cochem, where you can see the impressive Reichsburg castle sitting above town and wander past the half-timbered houses in the streets below.

Cochem
You have options today. Relax on the MS Olympia's sun deck and watch the Moselle landscape roll by, or take your bike out one last time. If you're up for cycling, experienced riders can pedal to Koblenz and visit Eltz Castle on the way. By afternoon, you'll stroll around the 'Deutsches Eck' where the Moselle and Rhine rivers come together.
