Itinerary
- Day 1
Bergen
You'll arrive in Bergen individually, with ferry passengers pulling in at 12:30 pm if that's your route. Spend the afternoon walking through Bryggen, the historic district where colorful wooden buildings line the streets alongside galleries and cafes. The fish market sits right at the city center and gives you a feel for local life. If you want to get up high, there's an optional cable car ride up Floyén that takes you over the city and out to views of the fjord and surrounding area.

Bergen to Hardangerfjord
This morning you'll drive from Bergen through the mountains heading toward Hardangerfjord. The route takes you through landscape known for its intense colors and fruit trees that grow well here because of the warm Gulf Stream. The drive covers about 85 km and runs roughly 1.5 hours total, so it's a fairly straightforward push without too many stops needed.

Landmarks Hardangerfjord - Day 3
Hardangerfjord to Sognefjord
You'll head north following the Hardangerfjord shoreline and then reach Sognefjord, which is the longest one in the region at over 200 km. In Gudvangen and Flam you get to choose what you want to do - there's the option to see Naeroyfjord, which is the world's narrowest fjord, or ride the famous Flam Railway if that interests you more. From Flam, you can take either the world's longest road tunnel or the scenic Aurland National Tourist Road to Laerdal. If you have time, Voringvossen waterfall in the Eidfjord makes a good detour. The full drive is about 250 km and takes roughly 4 hours.

Sognefjord to Dovrefjell
After driving through Lustrafjord, you'll move into the alpine mountains of Jotunheimen where Scandinavia's highest peaks reach up to 2,500 meters. You'll see glaciers and get that dramatic shift from fjord scenery to mountain landscape. By the end of the day you'll reach Oppdal near Dovrefjell National Park. The drive is about 330 km and takes roughly 4 hours to complete.

Dovrefjell to Molde
This morning you'll drive toward Kristiansund along the Atlantic Road, one of those routes that really lives up to the hype. The drive winds across islands and over bridges where it genuinely feels like you're driving through the ocean itself. Later you'll arrive in Molde, known as Norway's city of roses, where you'll spend the night by the Romsdalsfjord.

- Day 6
Molde to Geiranger
You'll drive to Andalsnnes and take on Trollstigen, the thrilling winding road with 11 hairpin turns that drops 800 meters into the Isterdal valley. After that, the charming Eagle Road takes you to Geiranger. Weather permitting, Dalsnibba viewpoint is worth the stop for views of the area. The village of Geiranger has a chocolate factory you can check out, and there's an optional fjord cruise on Geirangerfjord if you want to experience it from the water before heading to the Nordfjord region. This day is longer at about 290 km and takes roughly 6 hours.

- Day 7
Ørsta to Sognefjord
Today you're heading south along the coast with the option to detour into Selje if you want to see a charming coastal town. You'll stop at Måløy to check out Kanneste rock, a striking natural formation that stands out from the landscape. After that, you'll catch the ferry from Lavik to Oppedal, then continue on to Brekkestranda in the Sognefjord region for the night.

Sognefjord to Bergen
You'll drive back to Bergen along the Osterfjord at your own pace. If you've added the optional ferry, you'll head to Bergen and depart at 13:30 on a Fjord Line ferry, arriving in Hirtshals the next morning around 8 am.
