Itinerary
- Day 1
Bangkok
You'll arrive at your Bangkok hotel with check-in around 2 pm, so the afternoon and evening are open for settling in. If you'd like to get out and see something, there's an optional boat trip through the klongs where you can watch local life along the water and visit temples, stopping at Wat Arun (the Temple of Dawn) among others. It's really up to you whether you want to rest or start exploring right away.

- Day 2
Bangkok
Bangkok is yours to explore however you want today. The Royal Palace, shopping centers, and the Sky Train are all options if you want to get around the city. You could also wander through temples or find street food vendors scattered throughout different neighborhoods. If evenings appeal to you, there are optional dinner cruises on the river available.

Bangkok to Phitsanulok
An early start gets you heading to Ayutthaya, the former capital destroyed by the Burmese back in 1767. You'll see the bronze statue at Mongkol Borpith temple and walk through three historic pagodas at Wat Srisanpetch. After that, the trip continues to Phitsanulok where you stop at Wat Mahathat to see its Golden Buddha. Lunch happens at a local restaurant during the drive.

- Day 4
Phitsanulok to Sukhothai
The morning drive to Sukhothai takes you through rice fields, and there's a picnic stop in an orchard along the way. You'll visit local craft workshops to see how wooden furniture and textiles are made. Once in Sukhothai, walking through the historical park shows you temples, sculptures, and stucco details, including Wat Sri Chum where a seated Buddha statue rises 11 meters high.

- Day 5
Sukhothai to Chiang Rai
Before breakfast, you'll watch monks receiving alms from locals, a daily Buddhist ritual. After eating, head north through Morhom village where fabrics get hand-dyed with indigo, then see Wat Rong Khun, the white temple symbolizing enlightenment. From there, it's on to Chiang Rai.

Chiang Rai to Chiang Mai
The Golden Triangle is where Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar meet at the Mekong River, and you can take an optional boat trip there. Before heading to Chiang Mai, you'll visit a traditional Lahu hill tribe village. If your dates line up with Sunday, the Chiang Mai Walking Street weekend market is worth checking out.

- Day 7
Chiang Mai
Start at Mae Sa elephant camp where mahouts work with and teach you about these animals. Lunch happens after that, then you head to an orchid and butterfly farm. Later, drive up to Doi Suthep mountain temple for views over the city, and also visit Wat Suan Dok. The day finishes with a farewell dinner at The Riverside Chiang Mai Bar & Restaurant, with hotel pickup by 10 pm.
