- AAnonymous· May 29th, 2014“Nice Guides and organisation! Trekk to Gokyo Ri” I had a great time trekking to Gokyo Ri with the Ace The Himalaya Crew! Once I arrived I had a meeting with the manager of the Trekking agency who informed me about anything relevant and had time to answer all questions I had. Very nice to mention is following: I had booked a group trekking. Once I arrived they informed me that other group participants changed their trekk so I was the only one in the group... Nevertheless they gave me a guide so I had a guide for my own without paying more! Furthermore they managed to give me a helicopter flight instead of a plane flight without paying more :) (Kathmandu to Lukla) All in all great experience with the Team! At the end a personal recomodation: Plan 1 or 2 extra days for the return... The flight back from Lukla to Kathmandu can be a total mess! The airlines there dont have a ticket system as people are used to... It might be that you are stuck in Lukla for some days which can be really bad if you know your plane home will fly on the next day.... ChristianS1989 Karlsruhe, GermanyShow moreTrip date: May 2014

Asked on May 24th, 2017What opportunities will I have for shower along the trek?
- D
Dale

Dale
Asked on May 24th, 2017Do I need to tip my guide and porters? How much would that be?
- D
Dale
Traveler•Written May 2017This is a difficult thing to gauge. We have seen everything from USD 20 to USD 1000 per person for guides and porters. Tipping is not required, but a small gesture of thanks to your guides and local porters. The level of the tip should reflect the level of satisfaction from and personal involvement with your guide. However, we recommend you to spend minimum 10% of your total trip cost for tipping entire local staffs, the ratio of tipping guide and porter will be given to you at the pre-trip meeting in Kathmandu before starting the trek.
