You'll arrive in Sydney individually and get transported to your hotel. Later in the evening, you'll meet your tour guide and have a welcome drink to get the trip started.

Sydney
Start the morning at the Botanical Gardens where you can see the Opera House and Harbour Bridge from great vantage points. After that, head to Bondi Beach for some time by the water. Then you'll board a boat for a cruise that includes lunch and takes you past Sydney's main sights from the water. The rest of the afternoon is free, so you can either relax at your hotel or wander around the city.

This is a full day at the Great Barrier Reef, about 20 km from shore. You'll spend your time snorkeling, diving, and swimming through the colorful underwater world with corals and fish.

You'll take a nostalgic train ride to the town of Kuranda, which is about 60 km away. Once there, walk through town and visit Rainforest Station to learn about Aboriginal history, mythology, and traditional ways of life. For your return trip, you'll go back to Cairns by cable car flying over the rainforests.

Darwin to Katherine
Start with a tour of Darwin's city sights. Then you'll head south to Litchfield National Park to see massive termite mounds and waterfalls. You'll stop at Wangi Falls and Florence Falls for photos of the white water against red rocks and green vegetation. After that, you'll pass through the historic gold mining settlement of Pine, which has about 350 residents. The journey covers roughly 500 km, and by evening you'll reach the outback town of Katherine.

Kakadu National Park to Darwin
Early on, take a boat trip on Yellow Waters Lagoon where you can see colorful parrots, whistling kites, and possibly saltwater crocodiles. Then visit Nourlangie Rock to see Aboriginal dwellings and rock paintings that are around 20,000 years old. On the way back to Darwin (about 320 km), stop at the Window of the Wetlands for views of water birds and wetlands.

Alice Springs to Uluru
You'll drive right into the Red Center to reach Uluru (Ayers Rock), a long journey of approximately 500 km but very worthwhile. Circle the monolith in an air-conditioned coach and take short walks to notable spots around the base. Visit the Aboriginal Cultural Center to understand Uluru's spiritual significance for indigenous people. By evening, head to a viewpoint where you'll have sparkling wine and watch the rock change shades of red as the sun sets.

Adelaide to Kangaroo Island
Take a bus south to the coast where a ferry carries you to Kangaroo Island, 13 km offshore. The island is known as a 'zoo without fences' and is great for nature lovers because of its isolated location and wild animal encounters. See sea lions up close at Seal Bay and spot koalas in eucalyptus trees at Hanson Bay Wildlife Sanctuary. Also explore rock formations in Flinders Chase National Park. You'll stay overnight on the island after traveling about 180 km total.

If interested, there's an optional excursion to Phillip Island for the penguin parade.
