Kilimanjaro International Airport to Moshi/Arusha
You'll land at Kilimanjaro International Airport and get transferred to your hotel in Moshi or Arusha. This is when you'll meet your climbing team, go through a briefing, and handle all the paperwork. It's mostly a settling-in day after travel, so take it easy and prepare mentally for what's ahead.

Machame Gate to Machame Camp
After breakfast, the real adventure starts. You'll drive to Machame Gate where the actual climb begins. The hike takes you through rainforest with a gradual climb to Machame Camp. The terrain is lush and relatively gentle at this point, building your legs into the work ahead.

Machame Camp to Shira Camp
This morning you'll hike through moorland and heath zones while gaining altitude steadily. You'll pass through Shira Plateau during the day and reach Shira Camp by evening. The landscape changes dramatically as you move higher, and you'll start feeling the elevation now.

Shira Camp to Barranco Camp
You'll trek east toward Lava Tower at 4,600m/15,092ft, which is part of your acclimatization strategy. After reaching it, you'll descend to Barranco Camp situated in a valley. This up-and-down approach helps your body adjust to the altitude despite reaching a higher point first.

- Day 5
Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp
Today brings the famous Barranco Wall, which is steep but well-established with fixed ropes and established trails to help. After tackling this section, you'll hike across ridges and through valleys to reach Karanga Camp. It's physical but achievable with steady pacing throughout the day.

Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp
You'll continue moving upward through alpine desert terrain toward Barafu Camp at 4,640m/15,223ft, your last camp before summit day. This is when you'll rest, eat well, hydrate thoroughly, and mentally prepare for the final push. The air is thin and cold, so bundle up and get good sleep.
