Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival in Tokyo
Land in Tokyo and get picked up at the airport. Your driver takes you straight to the hotel in a private car, giving you time to settle in and get oriented to the city.
- Day 2
Tokyo
Start with Senso-Ji, Tokyo's oldest temple, then head to teamLab Planets Tokyo to walk through the interactive art installations. Later you'll take an hour-long river cruise on the Sumida, passing Tokyo Sky Tree and Rainbow Bridge. The day wraps up with a walk through Odaiba Seaside Park where you'll see Tokyo Bay.

Tokyo
This morning explore Meiji Jingu Shrine and the wooded paths through Yoyogi Park. From there, head to Zojo-Ji Temple, an important Buddhist site. After that, climb Tokyo Tower for views across the whole city. In the afternoon, walk through Akihabara to see the electronics shops and anime culture that fills the district.

Tokyo to Hakone
Take a day trip out to Hakone. Board the Pirate Ship on Lake Ashino for views of Mount Fuji. Then ride the Ropeway up to Owakudani, a volcanic area with steaming vents where you can pick up the famous black eggs (kuro-tamago) as souvenirs.

Hakone to Kyoto
Start the day at Hakone Open Air Museum, walking through sculptures and contemporary art pieces set in a zen garden. Later, head to Odawara and take the Shinkansen bullet train to Kyoto. You'll reach your hotel in the evening, which sits close to the train station for easy access.

Kyoto
Explore Higashi Honganji Temple, built in 1602, where you'll see the Goeido, one of the largest wooden buildings in the world. Next, visit Sanjusangendo with its 1,001 Kannon statues. Then walk through Nishiki Market, which has over 100 shops selling local food and specialties. The day finishes with a traditional kimono fitting and tea ceremony led by an expert.

Kyoto

Walk through Fushimi Inari Shrine with thousands of red torii gates and trails up Mount Inari. Then go to Nara Park to see the free-roaming sika deer and feed them. From there, check out Todai-Ji Temple and its massive Daibutsuden hall. Later, finish at Kasuga Taisha shrine where you'll see rows of lanterns.

Nara to Okayama
Travel to Himeji Castle, one of Japan's most recognizable castles with its white walls and elegant design. It's one of only twelve original castles still standing and has survived wars, earthquakes, and fires. The site holds status as both a national treasure and UNESCO World Heritage property.

Okayama to Hiroshima
Start with Okayama Castle, known as the Crow Castle for its black exterior and rebuilt in 1966 after war damage. Walk along the scenic Asahi River moat around the grounds. Then head to Korakuen, one of Japan's three great gardens. Later, travel to Hiroshima and see the Atomic Bomb Dome, followed by a walk through the Peace Memorial Park.

- Day 11
Hiroshima and Miyajima
Take a trip to Itsukushima island, called Miyajima, which has forests, temples, and wild deer throughout. Visit Itsukushima Shrine and its famous floating torii gate, which appears to hover during high tide. Before leaving, stop at Kintai Bridge, a historic wooden bridge from 1673 with five arches spanning the Nishiki River.

Hiroshima to Okayama
See Shukkeien Garden, a 'shrunken-scenery' garden with miniature representations of valleys and mountains. Then walk through Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter along the river with its white-walled buildings and willow trees. You'll have time to visit the Folkcraft Museum and Archeological Museum, with an option to try on a kimono. The day ends at the Ohara Museum of Art, Japan's first Western art museum featuring works by Picasso, Gauguin, and Kandinsky.
