You'll arrive in Italy and check into your hotel, then have the rest of the day free to explore the area using the CosmosGO app on your own schedule. This evening, you'll meet your Tour Director and other travelers for the first time.

Bari to Martina Franca
Your Puglia adventure starts in Bari with a guided walk through the old town, where you'll see narrow streets, historical palaces, and courtyards that have character and history. While you're there, you'll watch local women making orecchiette pasta by hand, which gives you a real sense of how this region does things. After exploring Bari, you'll head to Martina Franca, which becomes your base for the rest of the trip.

Martina Franca
This day focuses on Martina Franca itself with an orientation tour of the town so you can get oriented and understand the layout. The real highlight here involves tasting local specialties, particularly their famous cheese and Capocollo ham. You'll get to sample these regional products and understand why they're important to the local food culture.

Alberobello
Your half-day excursion takes you to Alberobello to see the Trulli, those distinctive stone houses with cone-shaped or domed roofs that date back to the mid-14th century. They're UNESCO World Heritage sites and the limestone construction is really something to see up close. The rest of your day is free, and there's an optional dinner at a local farmhouse if you want to try authentic Italian cooking made with fresh farm ingredients.

Martina Franca
You have the day to yourself in Martina Franca, so you can relax and explore at your own pace. If you'd rather get out, optional excursions are available to Altamura to see bread baking in ancient wood-burning stoves and check out old palaces and churches, or to Matera, one of the oldest inhabited cities in the world with caves carved into rock that show human settlements from the Paleolithic period.

Martina Franca - Lecce - Martina Franca
You'll take a day trip to Lecce, a coastal city known for its Roman monuments and baroque architecture built from that distinctive blonde local stone. Walking through the vibrant city center and its alleyways, the architecture really stands out. Later, you get hands-on in a cooking class where you'll learn to make traditional orecchiette pasta, then sit down to eat what you've made alongside local specialties and regional wines.

Martina Franca - Cisternino - Ostuni - Martina Franca
The day starts at a local olive farm where you'll learn how olive oil gets made and taste different varieties to understand the variations. From there, you'll check out Cisternino and Ostuni, the latter called 'the White Town' because of its whitewashed medieval buildings sitting on a hilltop with fortified walls and views down to the sea. If you want, there's an optional visit to Polignano al Mare, a charming coastal town that makes for a nice way to say goodbye to the region.
