This morning you'll take a two-hour walking tour through Edinburgh's Old Town with a local guide, passing Victorian buildings and cobblestone streets before hitting the famous Royal Mile. You'll then climb up to Edinburgh Castle and spend time exploring this historic fortress. The afternoon and evening are yours to spend however you'd like around the city.

Edinburgh to Lake Windermere
You'll travel south from Scotland toward the Lake District, starting with a one-hour guided tour at Vindolanda near Hadrian's Wall where you'll learn about the Roman fortress and its archaeological significance. After a break at Tebay service station, you'll continue on to Lake Windermere where you'll settle in at your resort for the evening and take in the quiet lakeside setting.
