- Day 1
Keflavik to Reykjavik
You'll arrive at Keflavik airport and catch the Flybus shuttle to your hotel in Reykjavik. Once you're settled, the rest of the day is yours to wander around the capital at your own pace if you want to.

- Day 2
Reykjavik to Ísafjörður
Meet your guide early and head west to Grábrók, a 3,400-year-old volcanic crater worth walking around. After that, you'll grab lunch in the coastal town of Búðardalur. From there, drive through the fjords of Ísafjardardjiúp with great views, then stop at Littibær, a restored turf house that now works as a café and museum. You'll arrive in Ísafjörður for the next three nights, and later in the evening, head out on a Northern Lights hunt.

- Day 3
Ísafjörður
Start at Dynjandi waterfall, one of Iceland's best natural features with its tiered drops. Next, head to the pier at Óundarfjörður for mountain views. You'll take a nature walk and then have a meal at Tjöruhúsið, a family-run restaurant. After lunch, walk through the town of Ísafjörður with its colorful houses and cobblestone streets. In the evening, keep an eye out for the Northern Lights again.

Ísafjörður
Begin your day at Ósvor Maritime Museum, checking out a restored fishing hut and learning about 19th-century rowboat fishing. Head to Flateyri village and visit Gamla bókaboðin, the Old Bookstore that's been open since 1914, which shows traditional Icelandic design and local souvenirs. You'll also learn about the 1995 avalanche and see the barriers built to protect the community. Later, take a walk around town and search for the Northern Lights.

Ísafjörður to Hólmavík to Vogur
Travel to Hólmavík village and visit the Museum of Icelandic Sorcery and Witchcraft, where you can see artifacts like old grimoires, ritual objects, and Icelandic magical staves. After exploring, head to Vogur Country Lodge in West Iceland for a quiet setting. That evening, watch for the Northern Lights from the property.

Vogur to Akureyri
Head north on the Ring Road and start your larger Iceland route. Visit Glaumbaer, one of Iceland's well-known turf house farms and folk museums. Continue through fjord landscapes and mountain passes to reach Akureyri, North Iceland's main town. You'll have the night here with time to check out local attractions.

Akureyri to Mývatn
Spend the morning in Akureyri with views over Eyjafjarður fjord. In the afternoon, drive to Goðafoss, the 'Waterfalls of the Gods,' then explore Lake Mývatn's geological features. See the lava formations at Kálfarstönd, pseudo craters at Skútustaðir, and the tephra cone Hverfjall. End with a soak in the geothermal waters of Mývatn Nature Baths. Watch for Northern Lights as the evening comes.

- Day 8
Mývatn to East Iceland
Start with a walk through Dimmuborgir's lava formations, known as 'the dark castles' where local legend says trolls live. In the afternoon, head to Námaskarð hot spring area with its mud pools and steaming vents. Then cross the desolate highlands, which look like the moon's surface, as you travel toward East Iceland.

East Iceland to Jökulsárlón
Check out the striking fjord landscape of the East Fjords with its fishing villages. Visit a stone and mineral collection, then see Vatnajökull, Europe's largest glacier. Head to Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon where icebergs float in the water and you might spot seals. From May through September, you can take a boat tour between the icebergs. Later, walk along Diamond Beach with its black sands and icebergs resting on shore.

Jökulsárlón to South Iceland
Explore Vatnajökull National Park, home to Europe's second-largest glacier and Iceland's highest peaks. In the afternoon, drive the South Coast route past natural wonders. Cross the Eldhraun lava field and sandy desert with cliffs, glaciers, and waterfalls. See the Icelandic Lava Show with its intense heat and molten lava. Walk the black lava beach at Reynisfjara near Vík. Visit Skógafoss waterfall and Seljalandsfoss, where you can walk behind the falling water. Look for the Northern Lights in the evening.

South Iceland to Reykjavik (Golden Circle)
Follow the Golden Circle route through classic Icelandic sites. Start at Friðheimar to learn about the Icelandic horse and visit a geothermal greenhouse. Head to Geysir geothermal fields with hot springs and bubbling pools, then watch Strokkur erupt every 5 to 7 minutes. See Gullfoss, the 'Golden Falls,' a double waterfall dropping 32 meters. Visit Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Return to Reykjavik for a brief city tour. Optional Northern Lights tours are available later.
