Itinerary
- Day 1
San Jose
You'll arrive at San Jose International Airport where your tour director meets you for the transfer to your hotel. From there, the rest of the day is open so you can either walk around the capital and get a feel for the city, or just settle in at your hotel and rest up before the adventure ahead.

- Day 2
San Jose to Tortuguero
After breakfast, you'll head through Braulio Carrillo National Park where the rainforest scenery surrounds you on the drive toward the Caribbean coast. At La Pavona dock, you'll board a boat for the canal ride to your lodge in Tortuguero, then grab lunch once you arrive. Later in the afternoon, a guided nature walk around the lodge trails gives you your first chances to spot wildlife in the area.

- Day 3
Tortuguero to La Fortuna
This is an early start, so you're on a two-hour guided boat tour through Tortuguero's canals before breakfast, looking for monkeys, crocodiles, toucans, and sloths. After eating, you'll travel by boat to La Pavona, then switch to road transport through Guapiles (where you'll stop for lunch) and on to La Fortuna. The evening is free for you to settle in near Arenal Volcano.

- Day 4
La Fortuna
You'll head to El Silencio Private Reserve for an Arenal Volcano National Park tour. The drive takes you as close as possible to the volcano's base, then you'll walk about 1km along volcanic stone to reach the best viewing spot. Your guide explains the volcano's history while you watch for rainforest wildlife, and you'll try some tropical fruit before heading back. The afternoon is yours to do as you please.

- Days 5 - 6
La Fortuna to Manuel Antonio
A private transfer takes you to Manuel Antonio on the Pacific Coast, where the national park mixes beach and rainforest together. You have the rest of the day free to explore on your own. The next morning, you'll spend 2.5 hours on a nature walk with a naturalist guide through the tropical rainforest, spotting sloths, monkeys, reptiles, and birds. After that, the afternoon opens up for beach time, pool time, or trying any optional activities that interest you.

- Day 7
Manuel Antonio to San Jose
A private transfer takes you from Manuel Antonio back to San Jose Airport for your flight home. The drive takes about 3.5 hours, so arranging a later departure flight works best with this timeline.
