Itinerary
- Day 1
Edinburgh to Tobermory
Start at Edinburgh Bus Station and head north on a coach through central Scotland. You'll drive past Stirling Castle, wind through Queen Elizabeth Forest Park and the Trossachs, then cross Rannoch Moor before reaching Glencoe with its steep mountain ridges. After crossing Loch Linnhe by ferry, you'll arrive in Tobermory on the Isle of Mull, where the seafront has colorful buildings and a working harbor.

Iona and Staffa
Travel south to Fionnphort and take a passenger ferry to Iona, a small island with significant early Christian history. Spend time at Iona Abbey and its museum to see Celtic crosses and historic burial sites, or walk around the quiet sandy beaches. In the afternoon, there's an option to take a boat trip to nearby Staffa island to see Fingal's Cave. Get back to Tobermory for the night.

Mull Exploration
Explore quieter parts of Mull starting with the village of Dervaig. Drive to Calgary Bay where the beach is sandy and remote, and you might see white-tailed eagles if you're lucky. Return to Tobermory by early afternoon to walk around the town, look through local shops, and there's an option to visit the Tobermory whisky distillery if it interests you.

Tobermory to Edinburgh
Leave Mull from Tobermory and head south to Craignure to catch a ferry to Oban. From there, drive west to Inveraray with its white-painted 18th-century buildings and the castle. Enter Loch Lomond National Park and climb to the 'Rest and be Thankful' viewpoint at over 800 feet elevation. Head back east toward Stirling for photos of the castle, then return to Edinburgh Bus Station in the early evening.
