This was a delightful trip despite the frequent rain and constant wind. It was made delightful however due to the knowledge of the Highlands and the humour of our tour guide, Bobby (Robert Thomson). Bobby took great care of us, dropping us of at multiple points having given us a detailed analysis of the history of the area beforehand. He was always back to pick us up exactly as promised. Having an in-depth knowledge of the history and the area is one thing; being able to impart that knowledge in a highly entertaining manner is quite another. While the scenery was gorgeous, and the weather for the most part less than gorgeous, we were never left wondering how we could contend with the wind and rain due to Bobby's selection of the length of time we would spend at each drop off point. The historical connection to each place we visited, which Bobby gave us, as well as the geological significance, made every place so much more interesting than it might otherwise have been.

    Paul

    Asked on May 11th, 2025

We were just wondering if there were any luggage restrictions on this trip. The two of us are planning to travel with a total of two standard size backpacks, one carryon size suitcase, and one checked bag sized suitcase.

    Transport
    • Highland Experience ToursOperatorWritten May 2025

Regarding baggage, due to the size of our vehicles, on our multi-day tours, we guarantee to carry one piece of luggage per passenger of 55cm x 40cm x 20cm, with a maximum of 15 kg. This is equivalent to hand luggage allowed in an aircraft cabin, or one larger suitcase – up to a maximum of 20kg between two travellers. Due to the limited space available on our mini coaches, we are unable to guarantee that we would be able to carry larger suitcases than this. In addition to this one piece of stored luggage, you can also each bring one piece of carry-on luggage with you, which would usually be a small backpack to carry your essentials for the day.
