    Asked on January 30th, 2025

Is transportation always provided? Do I need to find my own transportation at any point during this tour? Is there always a place to store our luggage...on a bus or hotel...we do not want to be dragging our lugage around as we tour. Can I get more specifics about the tour regarding sites we actually go inside of or just drive through...how much time spent in each place? Are there accomodations for 3?

I want confirmation that all transportation is provided so we are not carrying our luggage on any tour. Do we need to book a double room and a single since there are 3 of us. At what point do we actually get to see what hotels are chosen? Can I add an extra day after the initial booking if needed?

    • Schultz PortugalOperatorWritten January 2025

Yes, on our tours transportation is guaranteed throughout the trip, according to our program, except on free days. During the tour, bags can always be left at the hotel or in the van if you're going from one city to another. The visits included in the tour are: Tombs of D. Pedro and D. Inês, in the Church of the Monastery of Alcobação; Vila dos Pastorinhos and Casa de Lúcia, in Fátima; University and Joanine Library in Coimbra; Rabelo boat trip in the Douro valley; Visit to a winery in the Douro; Guimarães Castle and the Palace of the Dukes of Bragança; Moliceiro boat trip in Aveiro. In the rest of the places you visit, the driver usually gives between 1 or 2 hours of free time to wander around. We do have accommodation for 3 people but the triple room may consist of a double bed or 02 twin beds + a sofa bed or trundle bed.

    Asked on January 27th, 2025

I was hoping to inquire a 10-12 day trip for March or May of 2026. I'd love to include Lisbon, Sintra, and Madeira or Azores. Our children will be 3 and 1 at the time of travel, but we still love to hike, sightsee historical landmarks, and enjoy local food and wine. We love to travel with our kids and think Portugal would be a great next destination! We would love to include beaches for this trip. Do you have different pricing available for children? If so can you please provide a quote for a date in March or May 2026 for our family?

    • Schultz PortugalOperatorWritten January 2025

As far as the islands of Madeira and the Azores are concerned, we don't take care of flight arrangements, only land services, which could be a constraint. In March, the weather starts to improve in Europe. On March 20, spring begins, the days start to get longer and the rain starts to decrease significantly. Temperatures range from 8°C to 20°C. It can be a great season to visit Portugal, enjoy the start of spring in Europe and make the most of outdoor attractions such as parks, gardens and squares. However, it's important to know that Portugal in March still has cold days, especially at night. May, on the other hand, is the high point of spring and therefore warmer temperatures and lighter clothing is possible. Average temperatures are around 17°C and can easily rise above 20°C. May is a drier month and rainfall is occasional. The Atlantic waters are cold, however, in the south of the country, in the Algarve region, traditionally known as a beach destination, the temperatures are even milder and invite you to go hiking, to take a boat trip to see the rock formations, or visit a fortress, in short, there are many activities that both parents and children will certainly enjoy.
