Itinerary
- Day 1
Aswan
Your guide collects you from your Aswan hotel, airport, or train station to start exploring the city. First you'll head to the High Dam to see this modern engineering accomplishment and Lake Naser, then move on to the granite quarries where you can see the unfinished Obelisk. After taking time for lunch if you'd like, you'll travel by motorboat to Nubian Village on Soheil Island. There you'll visit a local family, have welcome tea, and learn about Nubian traditions and language before returning.

- Day 2
Aswan to Abu Simbel to Aswan to Luxor
Your guide picks you up around 4 to 4:30 am for the drive to Abu Simbel, traveling roughly 3 hours through the Egyptian desert (about 280 kilometers) while watching the sunrise. Once there, you'll explore the colorful temples with an Egyptologist guide who walks you through the UNESCO relocation project and the temples' history. Your guide won't enter the Great Temple of Ramses II or Temple of Hathor, but you'll have free time to check out both interiors on your own. Stop at the small visitor's center, then drive back to Aswan (another 3 to 4 hours). After picking up your luggage, you'll take the first evening train to Luxor.

- Day 3
West Bank
After breakfast, your guide picks you up at 8:00 am for the drive to the West Bank, which takes about 30 to 40 minutes. You'll start at the Valley of the Kings where pharaohs from the 18th to 20th dynasty carved their tombs into the rock. Working with your expert guide, you'll learn about rulers including Ramses II and Tutankhamun, then walk through 3 selected open tombs. From there you'll go to Hatshepsut Temple, one of Egypt's best-preserved temples, and hear how this female pharaoh ruled for 22 years. The tour ends with a photo stop at the Colossi of Memnon, the 17-meter statues of King Amenhotep III, before heading back to your Luxor hotel.

- Day 4
East Bank
You'll meet your guide to explore the east bank, beginning at Karnak Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that was constructed over 2000 years and covers roughly 63 acres. Your guide will walk you through the Great Hypo-style Hall with its massive columns and obelisks, sharing stories and legends throughout. On the way to Luxor Temple, you'll stop to see the avenue of sphinxes that once connected the two temples during ancient Egyptian New Year celebrations. At Luxor Temple, which King Amonhotep III built and Ramses II completed, you can see the obelisk and well-preserved statues that combine ancient Egyptian, Christian, and Islamic elements. After that you'll head back to your hotel.
