Itinerary
- Day 1
Aswan
Your guide picks you up from your Aswan hotel, airport, or train station to start the day. First stop is the High Dam, which was completed back in 1970 and remains a significant piece of modern engineering. From there, you'll take a motorboat out to Philae Temple, which UNESCO relocated to save it from flooding. You'll also visit the granite quarries in Aswan where you can see the massive unfinished Obelisk still sitting in the stone. The afternoon brings you to Soheil Island where you'll explore a Nubian Village and spend time with a local family before heading back to your hotel.

Aswan to Luxor
Your guide picks you up very early, around 4:00 to 4:30 am, for a 3 to 4 hour drive through the desert to Abu Simbel. You'll catch the sunrise along the way and then explore the temples with your Egyptology guide, including the Great Temple of Ramses II and the Temple of Hathor. After spending time at these sites, you'll drive back to Aswan (another 3 to 4 hours), then board the evening train to Luxor. You'll arrive at your hotel on the east bank for the night.

Luxor
After breakfast, your guide picks you up at 8:00 am and drives about 30 to 40 minutes to the West Bank. You'll explore the Valley of the Kings and visit three selected pharaonic tombs, which might include the tombs of Ramses II and Tutankhamun. Next comes Hatshepsut Temple, followed by a stop at the Colossi of Memnon for photos. Later you'll head back to the east bank to see Karnak Temple and walk the avenue of sphinxes, then finish at Luxor Temple before returning to your hotel.
