Arusha
Your driver meets you at Kilimanjaro International Airport for the drive to Gran Melia Arusha. On the route, you might catch sight of Mount Kilimanjaro in the distance if the weather cooperates. Once at the hotel, you can rest and settle in, or if you're feeling up for it, arrange an optional city tour of Arusha to get oriented.

Landmarks Mount Kilimanjaro Kilimanjaro International Airport - Day 2
Tarangire National Park
It's about a 2 hour drive to Tarangire National Park for your first real safari experience. You'll spend the day in a private 4x4 vehicle moving through open woodlands dotted with baobab trees, looking for elephants, wildebeest, zebra, and giraffe. There's a picnic lunch during the game drive, and then you'll head to camp for the evening.

Karatu to Serengeti National Park
The drive to Serengeti National Park takes around 3 hours, passing through green hills and lowlands. You'll start your game drive while heading toward the camp, spotting resident wildlife in the grasslands and around the rock formations. You'll arrive at Nyumbani Collection Serengeti Camp as evening comes on.

- Day 4
Serengeti National Park
You have a full day in Serengeti National Park with your private guide exploring the endless plains. Herds of wildebeest number in the millions here, and you'll look for zebras, gazelles, and members of the Big Five like lions, cheetahs, and leopards. It's one of the most iconic safari experiences available.

Serengeti to Ngorongoro
From Serengeti, the drive to Ngorongoro Crater takes approximately 4 hours. You'll descend into this collapsed volcano to see its distinct ecosystem with concentrated wildlife populations. A packed lunch happens at a scenic picnic spot near a hippo lake, and there's an optional visit to a Maasai village if you're interested. After that, you head back to Karatu for the night.

Your driver takes you to Arusha Airport for a domestic flight to Zanzibar. The remaining days are yours to do what you like on the beach. You can explore coral reefs, swim with tropical fish, try surfing, or simply relax in the sun at Z Hotel. It's a nice contrast to the safari days.
