Islamic Cairo
Your hotel pickup takes you into Islamic Cairo's old streets where centuries of history line the routes. El Moez Le Din Allah Street shows off some of Egypt's oldest architecture, including the Bab al-Futuh and Bab al-Nasr gates that mark the medieval city's boundaries. From there, you'll walk through El Darb El Asfar, the ancient Islamic quarter, to see the Mosque-Madrassa of Sultan Barquq and El Aqmar Mosque along with other historical structures scattered throughout. By late afternoon, you head to Khan El Khalili bazaar where vendors sell brass, copper work, perfumes, leather goods, and antiques. After browsing the stalls, you return to your hotel in the evening.
