This was the easiest tour I have ever taken. Just land in Istambul Airport, clear customs and immigration and Ciconia do the rest. We landed a day early and booked accommodation in Old Town, Ciconia organised transfers at no extra cost, even though it was clearly outside their tour. We then did the 11 day Luxury Tour of Turkey with Sami, a very presentable, knowledgeable and courteous guide. Our tour was managed on the fly, hitting everything on the itinerary with ample time to explore and take photos. If we finished somewhere quickly, Sami would suggest other things to see in the area. If we took longer on an attraction, he would juggle the rest of the day and the next, to make sure that we still saw all the attractions without feeling rushed. Sami was the perfect guide. Unfortunately we had one member of our 5 person tour who was somewhat more difficult than anyone else I have ever been on a tour with. Sami was constantly dealing with this while managing the rest of the tour. Sami was amazing. I have already recommended Ciconia to friends, family and some other fellow travellers I met while travelling in Egypt. I am also going to book the Ciconia tour of the Balkans (even though I have never thought of visiting there), based purely on my experience in Turkey. Well done Ciconia!

An incredible journey getting to know the history of amazing Turkey starting from Instanbul and all the other incredible cities and towns we visited. A special thanks to our Tour Guide Sami for his excellent knowledge and insight and for always going the extra mile to ensure that we were comfortable throughout the journey.

Our experience was first rate with a wonderful guide Aykut. His love of his country is evident & we learnt so much about Turkey as we sadly hear very little about life here in our part of the world. Our transport was so comfortable & hotels were excellent. We were collected on time at airports even after major delays. The Turkish ?? food experience was also wonderful as Aykut explained all the different dishes to try whenever we had meals together. I have travelled with other tour groups but never at this level of excellence. It’s tiring though….be prepared for a busy schedule & lots of walking.
